Yeah, I can't actually use most of the paladin class features (read: all the ones with stat requisites), so you'll have to cover that.

Would you like to co-backstory?

haha, i'd rather wait until i know a little more about the setting, but if we can fit each other in i don't see why not? as for paladin class features, really anything i can do a cleric can do better, but eh-- paladins appeal to me more.
Eh, I'm using the class for the Celestial Mount. It allows me to ride Tuskles the Celestial War Elephant at level 7.

Level 1 sorcerers start with 120 gold, don't they?

If you roll three 4's on 3d4. Or if the GM grants maximum starting wealth.

My characters level 1 so it'll probably be Dwarmin.

Hey, Dwarmin! What do you think? The set amount of gold for each class or just a default amount?

Level 3 Players: You've got wealth as defined by your WBL in the Dungeon Master's Guide, page 135. I'm unable to check it right now, or I'd tell you.

It's up to dwarmin, but I'm assuming he'll give you guys max starting wealth just because having to roll dice for that sort of thing is lame.

So I'm currently contemplating a Cleric/Dread Necromancer into True Necromancer for Massive Amounts of Undead (if I can find the feat, I think I'd either have 8xCL worth of Undead or 12xCL, depending on perspective... and availability).  Obviously, that wouldn't sync well with our resident Paladins and other Holier than Thou, so I don't know.

As far as which starting level, I'm actually fine with either.

It's 2700. Formula for WBL is Level^3 x 100.

Sounds like fun. Especially if the holies all end up in one party. Hunting-type missions sound fun...

Hm, I think your map leaves out a few aspects, Wyrm.

Spoiler: Map, kind of (click to show/hide)

Namely, the sprawl of downtown (I took it to mean an entirely different district that houses the majority of sentients, the plebs), and the encircling totems. Though I am a little confused to as to where Dwarm wanted them placed. He said the encircled the city, so does this mean they are only placed around the second wall, as in the place where the original city's boundaries were? The totems are the little... things on the boundary. I thought that some totems are more powerful than the others, and there are 'utility' totems closer to the centre.

In any case, this map (although crude) divides it up as Dwarm suggested. GMs can control Uptown, downtown, the totems, and the wastes (I don't think the ocean warrants its own GM, personally). But I don't really know how the action will be divided up. Most likely though, these four districts will be insufficient. I mean, my first guess is that most of the players will want to fuck around downtown, or in the wastes. Uptown is a good place for players to receive quests, and the totems no doubt will be the focus of many quests. Maybe... Hm, I dunno.

What do you guys think? Should we stick with Wyrms map and go from there, or start with this shit I made and make it into a real map? Either way, I think it would be best for every GM to contribute to the map making process, rather than one of us make the whole thing.

"Downtown" is pretty much everywhere not in the nicer parts of Hightown and Uptown.
The totems are there. In the next version of the map, which will be posted once I finish my post describing the districts and a lot of other stuff I got sidetracked on, I will make the totems more obvious.

I dedicated hours to my map! Please don't just make me throw it out...

You don't need to throw it out, you silly fuck ex dee!

I just think we should all be involved in its creation, as it is a significant part (one of the most significant parts) of the game and setting. I'd like to get Dwarm's (and maybe some player's) opinion(s). After all, he's the man with the plan.

In the end, we should all get an opportunity to alter the city, and add our own shit to it.

Fair enough. Could I see your guys' input? Do you want me to upload the Hexographer file?

I got a bit lost in the details...

Oasis
Spoiler: Map (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Key (click to show/hide)

Oasism the last bastion of civilization. Surrounded by tainted badlands created by the Terminus War, protected only by the nine ancient druidic totems scattered throughout the city. It was originally a human city, settled in the pleasant area around the Beach Totem. After the Terminus War, refugees from surrounding lands flooded to Oasis--humans, elves, dwarves, gnomes, halflings, even goblinoids and stranger beings. Now, five years hence, Oasis boasts a population estimated around 50,000, with only about 19,000 humans (half of which are refugees).

Spoiler: Demographics (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Notable Individuals (click to show/hide)
These 50,000 are less than a third of the people who have lived in Oasis since Terminus, the rest having succumbed to starvation, disease, or violence. Nowadays, only the cooperation of Guild of Priests, Druids, and Healers with the Council keep the population from falling further, with hundreds of acolytes and outer-circle druids summoning massive quantities of food to supplement fish, farms, and what little meat can be gained from monsters and what poor animals wander close enough to Oasis.

A number of districts have sprung up, to accommodate these people.

Spoiler: Mineton (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Hermits (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Jailscar (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Nightland (click to show/hide)

I intend to expand on this, but this is quite enough for now. And then some.

Well, we definitely need a cemetary complex, which would need to be fairly elaborate if the area outside the city has been hostile for sentients (as well as heavily consecrated if a Lichlord is resident).  I would also suggest a naturally occurring vine that produces winterberries, which can be good food, wine or poison, depending on preparation and season.  Would have helped the city be a major trading post before (both for exotic goods and as a niche for black market dealings).

Hm.

I have a few problems with this direction, but most of all I think it lacks the danger implied in Dwarm's description. I mean, a yearly election? Where are the shantytowns? The gangs? The chaos? From your descriptions of the districts, this seems to be a healthy, industrious, safe haven, whereas Dwarm's descriptions implied internal strife pressured by external evils.

Cults, monsters, organized crime, these are the things from which Heroes are born. Not safety and contentment.

I'm not a GM and I definitely don't plan to be (no matter how much i love worldbuilding), but... that sounds way too organized for just a few years after an apocalypse. Shouldn't there be a lot more fighting? Fragmentation? this level of civilization and industry shouldn't come about for decades, at least.
