Oh, and please decide on what books we can and can't use! That's really important!

There's so many books I couldn't say yes and no to them in a list :P

Honestly, I understand GMing as a science but don't have much experience in it...I'd say everything can be approved of a case by case basis.

Also, I'm #Living at http://webchat.freenode.net/ and will be popping in regularly until I manage to find someone who can get this started with me.

Being the presumptuous lil' shite i am, I'm gonna go ahead and say that i'm pretty sure tk wouldn't mind most, if any, of the official 3.5 supplements, considering how many supplements you'd need for that Biorne he posted earlier and other things he's said. I'm not sure about any beyond that, like 3.0 or unofficial supplements.

Ok, I've decided that I'm going for a Warblade of some kind. Gonna mix it up in melee and do something I've never tried before. Should be interesting!

I am going to be a human rogue with standard sneaky rogue features, occasional stabbing/missiling and several skills relating to being a respectable doctor.

I was going to make a Paladin, but seeing we already have so many fighting dudes... I might try making a caster of some sort. I haven't played any in a non-computer game before, might be fun.

Also, that strikes me as a lot of players already. If it'd help the GMs I'll drop out.
We've got three GMs.

I know I did.
It sounds good.

Alls good, but us GM's need to actually get together and make a campaign for players to join :P

Oasis does look interesting.  Kind of a "post-Tippy" war-torn world, from the feel of extremely powerful magic as being important to the history and the world's fall.

Yeah, I'd wanna stress-it seems important to me anyhow-I would hope that the game wouldn't just be a hopeless journey of misery. Magic changes the rules-if it can end the world, it can surely bring it back. I wouldn't want to devalue or deconstruct heroism-which, while sort of essential in a more realistic game, would make D&d sort of a downer.

It sounds good to me. Gives a good adventuring environment without forcing too much lore down everyone's throats, and leaving it wide open for GMs. And of course, it makes it far easier to explain why a group of strangers met :P

Since D&D is inherently post-apocalyptic, and recalls a Golden Age in the past, I always thought D&D was rather hopeful. Hope tempered by fear, possibly. But that's why adventurers get paid the big bucks. If you want to hope all day without the chance a goblin is gonna run you through, work at the inn.

There's this sense that perhaps regaining what the ancients did isn't such a great idea. Humanity barely survived last time. Or do we think we can wield their power and do it right? Are we wiser, more temperant than they were? Or will we not worry about that, just scrounge and recover what we can and let the next generation figure it out?
