As just a pet peeve of mine, I've grown to dislike creatures of larger sizes. (Except the Goliaths from Races of Earth, because they aren't technically large, but can count as large when it benefits them.) I really like smaller creatures, though. Particularly after I learned about the Swarmfighting feat.

I don't know what I would play as, I normally play as some sort of a mage of the arcane/pseudo-arcane varieties.
Maybe I should be something different.

Same racial feature as half giants, IIRC.

Playing as a Tylwyth Teg might be amusing. I think that'll be my next character.

Wait. If pixies are tiny, and TTs are half their size...pixies are Tiny, right?

All I know is, I want to see a team of all Halfling Fighters.  Screw party balance, screw decent classes, screw racial synergies!  4x Halfling FIGHTAHS!

With Spears.  4x Halfling Cheapskate Fighters.

You see? This is why the Swarmfighting feat is awesome. As long as they stick together, each one would get +1 for each other that they're with, for a total of +3 with all of them together!

And 4 Bucklers with the Shield Wall feat!  Plus they're all Small with a +2 racial Dex bonus!  And they get bonuses to thrown weapons, which includes SPEARS!

Monkey Grip + Swarmfighting + Shield Wall!

(Honestly, if we were to actually do this, I'd do Hexblade 3, Fighter 2, Master Thrower 2.  Hexblade 3 gives Mettle, Master Thrower gives Evasion.)

Shield wall doesn't work with bucklers...only heavy shields. And you have to be adjacent.

What I find funny is that gnomes tend to be tankier than dwarves. In terms of pure combat, at least. Dwarves can resist shit, and all.

On the other hand, Kobolds would work well for this. Or the halfling/gnome prestige classes focusing on fighting larger opponents.

Shield Wall doesn't specify "Heavy Shields," only shields, and if you're using Swarm Fighting, you're adjacent anyway.

Q: What's the setting?
A: I'd need to talk this over with anyone else who wants to be a GM. It's no fun running a setting you don't like. Personally, I'm partial to Forgotten Realms. It's one of the better known D&D settings, and it's generic enough in form and function that new(er) players don't really need to be familiar with it. So it's accessible. I'm not set in stone on that, though, so I'm going to pose my own question in this answer:
Dwarmin, GWG, and anyone else who is interested in a GM slot-- Is there anything you prefer? Should this just be put to vote?
I don't know much specifically about the Forgotten Realms setting; my only exposure to it has been through the Icewind Dale trilogy. What's special about it?

The special thing about it is that, being so generic, you probably already know enough just from that trilogy. Really, that's all there is to it. (And being so generic, there's a lot of possibilities for really any type of campaign)
Having briefly spoken to Dwarmin, I'm also really partial to his single metropolis idea. So there's that, also.

Speaking as a roleplayer, I loath Forgotten Realms, and think it would be especially bad for a living campaign given the huge amount of setting detail already worked out; especially all the existing characters.
Speaking as a rollplayer, mmmm, gimme dat Forgotten Realms, all those campaign resources, so many feats and races, aww yiss.

Some of mine do believe in god, but magic is a no. I hate magic on an insane level. It always ends up with snobs being born with a gift and acting superior.

I like the born normal and became strong through dedication and strength. Earning strength through years of practice and through faith and hope in himself.
Funny, from what I've seen that's the exact opposite of how you play.

On the other hand, Kobolds would work well for this.
Oh god yes. All Kobold party of tricky stabby types? Do want.

I'll try and summon up a basic campaign write up for us all to think about. We need a longer meeting on the chat, when you get the time.

Obviously I'm terrible at searching for things, because what kind of armour would a sorcerer have? I saw there's a feat they can take so proper armour doesn't have a fail chance. Do they normally have no protection at all then?

I'm still a noob at this.
