"I can agree to that." Selina nods as she slowly stands up.

"Maybe just me, but we should probably get the armor repaired before we go tromping off through the dangerous jungle. I'd rather wait this morning and set off with repaired armor than start making noise half a day earlier in armor with such...holes in it."

Carl helps Selina up.

Selina nods and accepts the help, wondering who would be repairing the armor. She was more of a medic.

"Alright. I'll get the drones on it if there aren't any objections?"

Unless the group moves on, have the drones start repairing the armor or however that works.

Selina nods and gets ready to attack any more monster things.

"Calm down, Selina. Keep an eye out, but calm down. This isn't one of the games where you get attacked by wild animals every thirty seconds."

After setting up the drones, Carl turns towards Selina.

"Sorry if it seems like I'm prying, but...why did you come here? You said this was your first time leaving your home planet?"

"I didn't come by choice. Well, here anyway. I signed up for an off world medic, didn't really read the fine print." Selina relaxes a bit but is clearly annoyed at getting stuck here.

[GreatWyrmGold]

"Hm. That's...unpleasant. Well, I suppose we'll have to make the best of it."

Carl sighs.

"Well, you've explained your presence, I should explain mine. Before this, I was a marine. One of the low-level ones who protect scout and courier ships from fringe pirates and stuff, not the tank-killing behemoths you see in the vids. Hoped I could've made my way there, as one of the combat engineers, but it wasn't in the cards...I'd prefer to keep the details close to heart for now, but I got discharged and had to find work. This...well, it fit with the kind of life I wanted to live, full of adventure and that stuff. I had the skills, I signed up. Planning to be a big fish in a new pond. My optimism's a bit gone, now. Post-discharge retraining kinda ground most of that out."

"I can relate." Selina pats his back a bit.

Carl relaxes a bit when Selina does so.

"Thanks. I'm glad."

[RangerCado]

"Not really something to be glad about." Selina grins to show shes joking.

[GreatWyrmGold]

"I mean, I'm glad you can relate. I can see how that could be interpreted wrong, but...yeah. I'm glad you're here."

"Well, we're not dead so, i'm glad to." She pats his back more.

An uncomfortable silence falls over the camp, broken only by the sounds of the machines fixing the armor.

"Where do you see us in a year, Selina? Ah, this colony, I mean. Us, the expedition."
