A cold wind blew down the lonely street as four wayward souls unwittingly walked into the merciless embrace of destiny. While it wasn't unusual for the people of Roland to walk the streets at night, only a few walked alone and even fewer had the nerve to walk down this end of Irons St. The silhouettes of run-down, historic buildings loomed from both sides of the street. The yellowed streetlights only served to make the shadows seem darker.

Though they didn't know it, all four people walking down this street had the same destination, dictated by copies of the same note.

At ten o'clock tonight, go to the theater at 132 Irons Street.

I know what you are. Don't be late.

((Wait, can I change my obsession quickly since the game barely started? Just realized something better would fit the character of Zechariah: Glass. Accordingly, switch out my flask for two glass dice on a necklace.))

Zechariah approached the others and viewed them all. Not a bad bunch, but he's seen better people. He waited for one of them to speak or move.

Roger leaps off a roof, rolls off the hood of a nearby parked car, flips to the ground, and dashes in front of the theater, coming to a skidding halt aided by grabbing and spinning around a light post right in front of the old building.
He observed the approaching folks. Who might they be, and might one of them be the Caesar who sent the note?

So we have an athletic one, Zechariah mused. That would be good, then. It was better than the last set of people already. At least we get a strong start now. He played with the dice on his necklace, which reminded him of the fragility and random nature of the universe. Well, the multiverse, really. But the multiverse could adapt. The universe, not so much.

Oz Arcanus Draws The man leaping and dashing, and the man standing and waiting. and the car, and the run down building. He barely looks up at times, yet somehow captures the essence of what occurs in quick, fluid lines, the pencil making a scritching sound across the pad.

Jeremiah casts distrusting glances at the three people who were walking uncomfortably close by. He didn't trust the note, but he was running out of options. No kind of career could be made out of shuffling and flipping card--at least, nothing that allowed for creativity. While the note was only paper, it's presence in his pocket felt like a lump of lead. Fear and opprotunity each added their own weights to the message. But this Claudius Caesar guy couldn't be too bad. If there ever was a name that said "show biz," this was it. They were going to a theater, after all.

Enter theater.

((Wrong, he tried to flirt with the Armory Master, who has almost godlike powers as a result of having psychokinetic amps stuck in her head, which, when used properly, can do anything from mix cake batter to vaporize entire planets. She picked him up with her amps, and ripped his nuts off, broke every bone in his body, and other horrible stuff I can't remember. After waking up in medbay, he asked the Doctor(Who has never heard of the hippocratic oath, or morals, or interstellar law.)if he could turn him into a woman, and after that, asked him to "improve" her body. The end result is pretty much a living marble statue of a fertility goddess.))

Leave the jumper and the drawer to their own shenanigans. Follow the playing card guy into the theater.

After silently observing the other three, Roger grunts, nods, and does a cartwheel into the theater after the first two.

The door opens before Jeremiah can reach it and from it strides a tall, heavily made up man. "I would like to thank you all for coming on such short notice. This-" he stops and takes in the sight of the four misfits before running a hand through his receding hairline. "I was expecting more of you to show. Never mind, the show must go on."

He turns on his heel and motions for the four of you to follow.

"I really must apologize for hiring you all on such short notice but my usual players aren't available right now. Each of you will be paid two-hundred-and-fifty dollars for tonight's performance and there will be further work for those interested."

As he speaks he leads you through a side door in the lobby, through a large empty room and then onto the stage. From your vantage point it is clear that there isn't a single person in the audience.

"The job is quite simple, all you need to do is-"

Suddenly, the stage shakes as a loud, thunderous noise drowns out every other noise. It gradually fades but doesn't go away. The roof of the theater begins to sag inward as if a great weight was pressing on it. Claudius draws his fencing foil and pulls a smart phone from his pocket. He shakily makes a call but only manages to shout "They're early-" before the ceiling rips, acting more like metal than wood or stone, and showers both the stage and the empty audience with debris. Claudius is thrown to the ground, crushed by an ancient-looking floodlight.

Through the hole in the ceiling the four of you can see the night sky, the moon, and a single star shining brighter than it should. As you watch, three pieces of sky seem to drip through the hole like honey. Instead of splattering when they hit the floor, the amorphous blobs begin moving towards the stage, pushing chairs out of the way as they do.
