That's an incompatible plugin that was included somehow.

Using the recommended "unified" download I get a pop-up when hitting Play from the settings window. Hitting ok to close it doesn't close DF or anything, and from what I can tell basically everything is working fine. The only thing I've noticed missing seems to be the DFhack search option for unit lists/etc, so I assume it's something with that.

Hmm, I've had a few people report this. Out of curiosity, are you downloading MWDF-patch-unified.zip and unzipping that over the top? If so, I bet what's happening is there's a DFHack r3 plugin that's sticking around and trying to be loaded by r4. I'll need to include instructions to remove the 'Dwarf Fortress/hack' directory before unzipping. (Unless DFHack is nice enough to ignore zero-length files, in which case I can include a couple to overwrite the r3 plugins which aren't in r4.)

If you're downloading the full unified.zip then something funny is going on... It definitely shouldn't have any incompatible plugins...

I downloaded the full unified.zip.

Okay, I can see what's going on; there are some old DFHack plugins in the Dwarf Fortress/hack/plugins directory , in particular:

  • stockflow.plug.*
  • stonesense.plug.dll
  • trueTransformation.plug.dll
  • diggingInvaders.plug.so (harmless removal, DFHack r4 has its own diggingInvaders.plug.dll)

Of those, stockflow and stonesense are nice to have, but I suspect trueTransformation might be essential for Masterwork (since it does lots of transformations) TrueTransformation is integrated into sydromeTrigger, and a separate plugin is no longer needed. So all the core masterwork functionality should still be there. :)

In any case, new downloads of unified.zip shouldn't give errors any more, and 'master' is still bundled with DFHack r3 (and currently contains everything else except the big raw harmonisation between tilesets, which fixes bugs when using non-masterwork tilesets).

Thank you so much for the bug report!

trueTransformation has been completely replaced by syndromeTrigger and is now obsolete.

Thanks! Just spotted that when I went looking through the DFHack threads! :)

Do you know if there are r4 plugins for hotkeys, stonesense, rendermax, and stockflow? I saw a comment about stonesense not being in the r4 release, although it was light on details as to why.

Stonesense was assumed it came separately, so it wasn't built into the DFFD version up. It should be buildable into r4 just fine.

Any way to keep the "search" thing while using this? I hate it when I have to go through 100+ dwarves just to find something, and then do it again.
I don't mind getting my hands dirty(ie: recompile stuff).

LE
Looks like all I had to do was enable the existing plugin  :-[

Wait, search isn't enabled by default? It *should* be in the master branch, and I'd certainly like for it to be enabled in unified.

What change(s) did you make to enable it? I still consider myself to be a DFHack n00b; I thought all the plug-ins would be enabled by default.

Thanks! I wonder if there's anything else that's not automatically enabled under r4?

I've updated the dfhack_r4 and unified branches so search is enabled automatically at start-up.

If there's a military panel search for equipment, then I'm upgrading my old 4c game to DFHack r4 right now. ;)

There's a problem with mousequery plugin.
It's not enabled by default (was in regular Masterwork). I've tried enabling it manually in DFHack console, and it partially works- you can move the cursor by clicking, but other things are broken; like onhover info, or designating rectangular areas. Also none of the mousequery's console commands work. I guess it's incompatibile with DFHack R4

I'm using full unified version.

The zone plugin doesn't seem to be enabled at start up either.

EDIT: The library training doesn't seem to be working either. Not sure if there is a plugin that deals with that, or why it wouldn't be working.
