Ominous spoilered chatter implies something's going on, but I would think would be a good compromise between those who want to enjoy the game and haven't played it yet and those who want to enjoy the game and have.

What if everyone who didn't mind being spoiled started having parallel, irrelevant conversations alongside their on-topic posts? So spoilery choices can have spoilers and not look any different from insignificant choices having discussions about cheese.

And anyway

I think the idea of this being a an entirely blind LP went out the window a long time ago. I won't dance around the subject, as I believe based on the tiny things I know now, life and death stuff happens here. I don't know the exact context. I don't know what skills are all involved. But, if we do survive I can actually post in a manner where I haven't been spoiled.

Regardless, I would be ashamed of myself if I influenced the vote here. I shall see what happens and silently cross my fingers that people don't get little axspendable killed. ^.^

No spoilers. Spoilers would, well, spoil the fun.

Anyways, Party Time!

You know what's really funny about everyone worrying about omens?  In divination, you can also have good omens, not just bad.  For all everyone knows, we just missed a divination check that says everything's going to be all right, or one that says that failing to go will be the end of everything (maybe we alienate the new Duchess of Sudbury, or maybe we miss our chance to stop a noble coup at home because we're out playing).  Well, people who've played before know which of the three the divination check refers to, but shush.  ^_^

Party on

Stop. Let's consider. We have a party next week - that means we probably have ONE more chance to work on skills.

We should decide what skills we want to work on to minimize our chance of death or disgrace, and then pick the action that leads to the mood that boosts that.

If we're worried about the actual party, we might want to concentrate on our sorely neglected social skills or more internal affairs.

If we're worried about getting there, we might want to focus on more directly survival-oriented abilities, like running and reflexes or even weapons.

Personally, I consider the first situation as a lost cause, so I'd say we should focus on the second. I think "anger" gave us a bonus to weapons and athletics and agility (... actually, that might not strictly be true. 2 of the 3 maybe?), so I'd argue we should push for that bonus now.

We can totally get angry today, so SPORTS.

Okay, so, looking back, angry gives us Weapons and Military, and weapons seems less useful than, say, reflexes. Of course it doesn't give any penalties either to anything useful, which is nice, but neither does willful.

So... better than willful, but not by much. Can we get anything else that might be even better? What do we need for agility or athletics?

No, no.  Let's focus on personality.  We can't just magic and sword the birthday party into being a success.

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say here.

That we should try for magic and swords? So... Angry, then?
