Free the witch. She may prove useful in the future.

There's no option to throw the priestess in jail for being a collaborator?

Burn the Witch, which requires not freeing her.

We do not back out of our promises. Don't free her - it would be a sign of weakness, unacceptable in the royal heir.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Free her. The people must see us as a just and reasonable leader if we are to lead them.

I say, we lock her in further! Add additional chains to restrain the witch in her cell!

Free the Duchess. Just because we're trying to have some more royal tact this time around doesn't mean that we can't learn magic in addition to that. Learning magic was not what ended the last run.

I'd rather have the priestess thrown in prison as well for witch-collaboration and conspiracy to commit crimes against fashion, but seeing as that isn't an option...
Free the witch, I'd rather go all out either way and thus free the witch and learn magic than keeping her locked up if we cannot lock up witch sympathizers as well.

If we admit we overreacted we'll look foolish! We can't afford to have everyone thinking we're making foolish decisions less than one week into the job! Don't free her, we don't make mistakes!

Free the Witch.

We may choose not to learn from her, but it's nice to have the option.
