I'm going away for holidays, and may not be able to post a turn for up to a week.
Also, it seems we're missing posts by quite a few people. If anyone wants to, I may let you post actions for people who are away if they don't post in a few days.

Oh right. Besides nibbling the chalk, I fill a bowl with blood from a bucket and set it next to the plant, to see if it will move or reach toward it. Then pour the bowl onto it like I'm watering it.

Turn 8, 3:00 PM -6:00 PM, Weizen 26, Year 327

Start selling lemonade to the populace for 1 Steinmark apiece.
You make some lemonade, and start selling it. You make 26 Steinmarks before running out of lemons and sugar..

I go out and find an artist to make a sketch of this woman to hang in the market saying "If you see this woman please bring her or information of her whereabouts to Steinheim Laboratories. Any information leading to her discovery will be rewarded with 300 Steinmarks."
You don't have enough details to make any sort of completed sketch, but you ask around for information anyways. Some vagrant, desperate for money, tells you that a he saw a woman that probably fit your description run by last night. He peeked out, and saw her vanishing in the night, running towards the farms and forests to the northeast. You promise to come back and pay him if the info turns out to be accurate.

See if I can hire someone for 10 steinmarks to sell the rest of the fish buy another net and hire some random kid to come fish with me go fish again I shall bring home the bank.
You hire a pair of street urchins, one to sell fish and one to help you catch more, then you return to the lake. You catch about three quarters of a wheelbarrow full of fish, when the other kid shows up. You pay them 15 Steinmarks to share, and keep the remaining 25 for yourself.

Look around the house for clues-footprints, the smashed window, and way something could have made an entrance, then work from there.
You begin looking around, and notice that the broken glass from the window is all outside the house. You can't find any other clues, though you think this one may be important.

Derpus nibbles the chalk.
You take just a small nibble from the chalk. You consider yourself a bit of a connoisseur. It tastes particularly chalky, but with just a mild earthy taste that you really can't get anywhere nowadays. Oh yeah, you also didn't burst into flames or explode or anything. You suppose that is also important.
Feed the crimson plant some apples, meat and rocks.
It grows a bit when you give it the meat, finally outgrowing the clay pot, which cracks open. The apple yields less of a reaction, and it doesn't react at all to the rock.

Oh right. Besides nibbling the chalk, I fill a bowl with blood from a bucket and set it next to the plant, to see if it will move or reach toward it. Then pour the bowl onto it like I'm watering it.
It doesn't grow towards the bowl at all, so you continue with your plan.
Upon pouring the blood into the plant, it immediately begins to grow and quiver rapidly, sucking up all the blood. It is now completely out of the pot, and looks like it's beginning to root to the table.

When Malaria hears about the missing woman and sponsorship offer, she gives a stern nod. "You guys feel free to take the direct approach with Erik's wife if you wish, I'm going to follow something that may be related... The flaming vanishing horse. Is anybody here good at tracking? Or should I hire somebody for the job?"
You decide that you should work on the problem from a different angle, and so hire a tracker for 20 Steinmarks and head back out to the farm. To the tracker's experienced eyes, the track is fairly clear and you begin to follow him through the forest. The trail meanders through the forest, with patches of burnt plants here and there. You eventually come across the carcass of a deer, with scorched hide and chunks of flesh missing. The tracker is now visibly disturbed, but offers to go on for an additional 10 Steinmarks. Do you continue?

"Well, m'ssieur, it appears that whatever got your wife out went out that way."

Examine the area outside the window-any tracks, footprints or similar?

Ask the tracker if he thinks he can pick up the trail again later. If he says yes, return to town, and try to whip up an armed posse to help hunt down the demon horse, dead or alive.

If he says no, pay him the extra stienmarks and push foward.

Help...people?

You know, it would be a lot easier for me to find fun stuff to do if we were more mad fantasy scientists than lawabiding fantasy scientists.

Stop Derpus from pouring it on the plant. Decide to plant it in an apropriately sized pot.

You should definitely go find that pot. I think I saw one of them outside.
