For a comparison of the two view points, I like NPR's Double Take.

I found this. Turns out that CNN spends the most time on factual reporting but is utter shit at it, FOX is worse in terms of bias, and MSNBC is just useless when it comes to actually reporting reality.

And this is why I use none of the above for news.

to watch any one news source is to find an unreliable source, to actually get the information you really need you'll have to check a couple of sources and see what remains the same!
Or be there and interrogate the witnesses.
The only way to see fully how a event progressed is to be every single party simultaneously, additionally with your consciousness viewing the event from multiple observers, from all possible different directions, in all possible different speeds of time, at all possible different levels of light radiation (and all possible ranges), with numerous other sensor-based tools to determine all possible other variables. It would be better to have each one of the multiple observers occupying the same spot, with copies of this arrangement occupying every possible point in space. Furthermore, you would need to study thoroughly all possible ideologies and their sub-categories involved, patternize previous events (to see how it fits in historical context), thoroughly go over all consequences of this event and their differences from a timeline where the event did not occur, read the minds of other individuals to know their take on events, determine a universal constant for all morality by which you can discern where a neutral line occurs, and then report the answers clearly and concisely in such a way that the limitations of the English language do not hinder the meaning.

And that is a little hard for your average news station to do for an article, much less a headline, given time constraints.

is fox news about as reliable as CNN?

( i am asking for educational purposes only, in that i want to be educated on things)
Skips to end of thread ignoring days of discussion*

New York Times, BBC, and if you want a non-western view Al-Jazeera, one of the few big non-western outfits out there. If it is about Israel I strongly suggest Al-Jazeera, because western views are far too pro Israeli.

Well... I mean, even the most conservative people here aren't gonna be in favor of Fox News.
That's just the way it goes, y'know? Hard not to be biased against that sort of insanity.

I'd argue that most people on this forum would hate them regardless, because they tend to be hardline liberals.

Unless you are saying conservatism of any kind is insanity, in which case, you are no better than you perceive Fox News to be.

Yeah, your point of the forum having a predominantly liberal population is a factor in what I said, but my point was that the conservatives on here(as few as they may be) are generally of the sort that doesn't much care for fox news.
Come to think of it, I'd say that conservatives have more of a right to hate 'em, given that they make conservative views look ridiculous and insane, when they might not be.

Fox new is like a comedy show , fun to watch and funny but has shit all news.
Ironically enough, Comedy Central has the best f%@#ing news team ever.
You. I like you. I like you because I agree with said statement wholeheartedly.

Yeah, quite a few people tend to agree with that.
