Unknown sci-fi game with Lovecraftian vibe
« on: November 08, 2013, 04:15:52 am »

Again I have seen a game screenshot that I could not identify:

Does anybody recognize it?

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Thanks.

I guess the fact that that game is still going means that it's fun.  Maybe I should check it out.

Yeah it's alright. It would have been better served as an offline/co-op game than MMO probably.

I dunno about that.  It's pretty fun but the diversity of the skill tree kind of hides teh limited number of good builds from what I've seen.  Especially with DPS and tanking the builds are pretty centralized, since you can take passives from any tree it basically comes down to the trees with the best mix of builders, consumers, and buffs (which is Assault Rifle/Shotgun hands down) and then a menagerie of the best on-hit passives to take advantage of the rapid fire assault rifle for giant DPS.

And tanking is 100% Chaos/Blade, nobody uses anything else, at least when I played they didn't.  Healing was a little more varied, most people went with Fists and blood or pistol, I was fancy and went AR/Blood which was a lot of fun, but had a lot of trouble against the extreme heal-check bosses like Ur-Draugr.

Still fun though, I liked it a lot.  If nothing else, the investigation missions are amazing.  No little icons telling you exactly where to go and what to do, you're 100% on your own and some of them are very challenging.

It's a fun game to explore and drink in. Mastery.......not quite as rewarding, partially because of what Cthulhu said, partially because the game is kind of an older approach to MMO combat. Now that it's not a Pay2Play MMO, I'd encourage everyone to give it a whirl. For the stories and the atmosphere if nothing else. The first half of the game is pretty awesome. The second half I kinda lost the thread of what's going on and the areas weren't as rich in interesting lore and details.
