I have a Google+ account, but my Youtube User Account remains a strange duality between my regular account and the google+ youtube account. I never linked Google+ and Youtube, despite their attempts, and so I remained anonymous.


I haven't checked to see if I could post, but the number of times I've ever wanted to post in youtube is sufficiently small that I really don't care about the new changes. Fear me Social network war, for I am asocial, and immune to your tricks.


From a design view of course, this makes perfect sense. Youtube remains the premier Video sharing website, Google owns it, Facebook (their Arch-Rival, as opposed to Microsoft and Apple, their other Arch-Rivals.)


Anyway, checked it, still post as my nickname.

I use AOL mail now because they're one of the last mail providers that don't force me to give them my phone number or an alternative email address.

I have three separate gmail accounts - one I use for professional sorts of things, one I use exclusively for video chats (this is the one where they believe me to be named Pooplord Zoosmell), and one which I use as a sieve when I know spam is an inevitable consequence of giving out my personal email address, for whatever reason. How am I supposed to figure out which one to link? They clearly didn't think this through.

Incidentally, for personal email, I use Hushmail. It doesn't seem to require much in the way of personal information, although the free mailbox is rather small. Which has just encouraged me to manage it properly, really. I don't recall if they needed a phone number, but I don't think so. However, sometimes people will look at you funny if you give them an address that doesn't end in a provider they recognize (this is why I have that "professional" address up there).

I hate it, but nearly everything I watch is on Youtube. Tutorials, let's-plays, music, it's all YouTube now. I don't have a Google+ right now and I've used Adblock to get rid of as many of the prompts as I can, but I imagine the day will come very soon when they'll make it so that there isn't even a YouTube anymore, you have Google+ or you don't.

I'm more surprised they managed to break every comment since the beginning of youtube but before this new system without outright destroying the site, honestly.

Also, I still don't have my (barely functional and only for android app purposes) g+ page connected to the same one as the pointless one it gave me for my youtube account. So up yours, google.

I'm getting the feeling that the dislike towards this change is reaching critical mass, to the point where Google may actually revert to the old comments system. I doubt they'll ever revert anything related to synchronizing all the dumb google accounts, though.

i am annoyed by Googles interference in YouTube

I do not desire to act on YouTube with my real name plainly visible, even though i do (sadly enough) have my name plainly available in other places. But in these places, i have opted to do so, and i can generally hide it if i so desire (except Facebook, but i have to have it visible so my friends can recognize me). But this? This is just intrusive, and it's plainly obvious that they WANT me to spill my personal info all over the place, because although i have and prefer to use an account that shows me as Comrade Shook, it frequently and without my consent switches over to the Google+ account which spawned from my Gmail all of a sudden, and which contains and displays my name. Not cool, Google. Perhaps that's why other things such as Vimeo is starting to surface.

That's why I use IE, and Chrome, and Firefox.

Anything work related with my real name etc. I do in IE

Anything kaenneth I do in Chrome

Anything I don't care to have associated with me (porn sites...) I do in Firefox.

nice separate sets of cookies, etc. without needing separate user accounts/VM's on my machine.
