Campaign
Campaign, Ike!
"I get the feeling it might not be worth finding out what happens when I pull this three more times. With that in mind, let's roll!"
Let's get back to our regular quest, shall we?
((Wherefore art thou, good internet connection?))
Campaign
Zechariah drank the water greedily, taking in as much as he could without drowning himself. He didn't have a clue when he would be able to access water like this again. It was almost heaven compared to what he'd been through before. He didn't really care about the taste; it was potable, and this was good enough for him.
And then, a bell sound rang through the area. Zechariah looked around, listening more than he was seeing.
To Irine:<There's something or someone nearby. It might be dangerous. Get ready.>
Be cautious and steady with my movements. Scout the surrounding area and try to see if I can find the source of this bell sound. Prioritize stealthiness.
Let's move things along a bit, shall we?
The gang meets up near the water source, where it is explained that a strange mechanism Ike found at the basement of a building was the source of the noise. River and Ike make a trip to the water source to quench their thirst. Then they all make their way closer to the crater.
The trip is uneventful and they make good progress. By the time they have managed to make their way through the fissures that have appeared on the ground close to the crater, the sun has started to approach the horizon and parts of the city has have already been covered by the ever growing shadows. It will probably disappear in about an hour and it will be dark some time after that.
River stops close to the edge of the crater, resting on the warm smooth rock there and addresses Zechariah.
"When you are ready, I need to talk to you. I need to prepare you for the process."He then turns to face Irine and Ike.
"I do not need you now. Explore if you want. I may need one of you later. To protect Zechariah and Theri while I awake the others. If Zechariah agrees to help me."Ike is currently very hungry.
Toaster VS Wolfkit
Tournament
John grinned. "Woo! I'll get you for your many perceived insults!"
Get in the best cover that's easily accessible; if already in it, stay there.
Summon an exoskeleton that's purely focused on defense, with a primary focus of defending against the pistols we're using. Offense is not required; the pistol and spear will cover that.
You remain crouched behind the low wall and focus on summoning some armour.
Being unsure about how exactly the raygun works and what would protect you from it, you just give your general intention to your power and hope it comes up with something good. It probably has no idea either, since it comes up with a fairly simple solution. (Or maybe it's just disappointed it cannot use your vagueness to maim you somehow.) Lightweight plastic pieces begin appearing and attaching themselves on you, with more of them appearing and screwing themselves over the old ones, leaving a gap between each layer. Layers of transparent plastic are placed in front of your eyes, so that you can still see, although they obscure your vision a bit. You make a quick check to make sure that you can breathe, just in case.
Since each raygun round has a relatively small blast radius, the spaced armour should require multiple shots in the same spot to be destroyed. The lightweight plastics should allow you to move quickly and dissipate the heat produced from each hit. The only problem is that in order to preserve your ability to move unhindered, your joints, hands and feet are not armoured with anything beyond a simple plastic cover. A single hit would be enough to hurt you there, even though the armour would mitigate some of the damage.
While you do so, your position is assaulted by a hail of raygun bolts, destroying the door behind you and melting a large part of the wall and ceiling, exposing some wires and pipes in the process. Even the wall you are hiding behind, along with the nearby sections, has started to sag and melt. It probably won't take another shot.
Any people still around you that are still alive are wise enough to lay low, with some of the bravest ones trying to crawl away.

"Hmph. I have put up with you for far too long, but now your vague, unspecified accusations shall cease! "
Stay behind cover, take opportunistic shots at John
You unload on the piece of cover John was last seen hiding behind, pulling the trigger again and again and again. You cause a molten crater to appear on it, the surrounding cover, the wall behind him and the ceiling above him (exposing some pipes and wires in the process) and destroying the door behind him. You try to hit a piece of orange plastic sticking out of cover but your aim is not that good.
<Good thing those guns have lots of ammo, eh?>
Hawk132 VS Alarith
Tournament, Bryan
"No hard feelings about this okay? I know I won't hold a grudge."
Expect a physical charge of the giant, or a telekinetic blast from his arm, dive forward and to the side at the appropriate time. Break into his mind, doesn't need to be sneaky, just clean. Any nearby rubble I could lift with my telekinesis?
There are various things around you could use. Small pieces of rubble, larger slabs of concrete that have fallen off buildings, bent lamp posts, destroyed benches, burnt trees, old rusted cars. Depends on what you want and how powerful you feel.
You feel close to penetrating Saevus' mental defences, but you fail to do so. On the bright side, you don't think he noticed. And if he did, there's probably nothing he can do about it other than try to kill you faster.
Tournament
"Do try to make this entertaining."
Do the thing I wanted to do! Will do spoilers next turn!
Bryan stands still with a wide stance, ready to dodge out of the way, while Saevus charges at him, the glow of the runes of his golden arm leaping out of them, materializing into a spear. He throws the spear at Bryan with surprising agility, adding his momentum to the throw. He attempts to make the speed go even faster by hitting it with a telekinetic blast as he throws it, but he mistimes it and hits the ground instead, ending up doing nothing more than raising a cloud of dust around him a moment after the spear leaves his hand. It does look pretty cool though.
<Good throw!>Bryan dives out of the way, landing forward and to the side, close to a small hole in the road. The glowing spear embeds itself in the asphalt, causing small cracks to appear in it, before it fades into nothingness. Bryan starts standing up and raising his sword.
<Better reflexes.>Saevus has almost reached Bryan. Just a few steps left.

(Awesome arena. Would've never thought of that.)
I look around at my new surroundings, and I think to myself, why are we fighting on giant frisbees? They get so boring, especially because they break so quick. "Durable"? Not really.
Fight time? I'll crush ya flattah dan ah fraesbae!
Crush him flatter than a frisbee
Ron does his best to jump off the erythrocyte he is on and swim towards the one Rune is on. It's not that easy for a man with his abilities, but he manages. The erythrocyte he just kicked on the other hand is not left in a very good condition. Super strength tends to do that to things.
<Let's see what kind of complex tactic they will->"Ron crush!"<Uh, okay, scratch that.><He is even nice enough to call his attacks.>Quickly transform into a large amoeba, shedding necessary biomass to complete the transformation quickly. Once done, envelop the red blood cell I am currently on, and begin absorbing biomass. If I have enough time and supplies, then get my "Specialized Trait" which I leveled up for You know the one, paris!
It's a cell. In a functioning human body. That means it is made out of appropriate materials in the appropriate scale. So you might as well had tried to absorb a statue of a pig or one of those molecular models made out of those coloured balls. The molecules themselves are incompatible. Alien. Too large for you.
If the entities weren't providing you with breathing and lighting and appropriate pressure and all those things, it would have made an already difficult environment even worse. I briefly considered giving you spacesuit-like things to justify your capability to exist and act in such an environment, but I thought it would be too restricting. Better to just say it's magic.
Rune starts transforming into a giant single celled organism. Uninuclear cells like the ones most single celled amoebas have don't work well for organisms of that size, so he transforms into a coenocyte instead, with large molecular filament chains that allow him to deform his rather thick cellular membrane reasonably well and a rather complex network of chemical pathways connected to a central core network that allow him to sense his surroundings and control his body. Unfortunately, for now he is limited to an OK sense of touch, a very vague and blurry sense of sight and an OK sense of taste.
Just as he is about finished transforming, he feels vibrations in the water surrounding him and the cell he is standing on. A moment later, before he has a chance to do anything, he feels his cellular membrane being ripped apart and a large part of his insides escaping out of it.
<Ouch. Never mind what I said before, this is looking like it's going to be a quick fight.>Through the red haze of the exploded erythrocyte in front of him and the various former pieces of Rune's body that are now decomposing into biosludge, Ron can see the tunnel branching into more and more tunnels, getting smaller with each branch. In a couple of seconds it will be just large enough to fit him.
