I'm starting to find the Movement Point system really annoying though. Requiring points to move wasn't so bad in Die2Nite because it fit the setting. But needing points to just move back and forth between rooms reminds me of the old X-Com games and if I quit this game it'll probably be because of that. But seeing how MP really works into Mush's system, I doubt they'll change it...

Oh.. where do I see the personality test? I missed out on it because I just jumped into the game.

I'm giving this a go aswell, I'm not rating my survival chances high. Day1 Cycle 7 and 4 crewmembers defrosted. Also, NO idea what im doing. I picked the ships designer and I've been dumping my points into something that should give us more scrap =x.

edit:
It looks cool and sounds interesting, but I'm very worried it wont be much fun, I  just hope that I'll end up having a good game it seems very dependant on activity of the crew and howfast people learn.

First round as botanist: Wake up from cryo, walk into hydroponics, hug cat, pick up pot, drop pot, unable to interact with the plants in any way, walk to dorm, completely out of movement and action points, sleep.

I return an hour later and I have one extra action point. Man, this is exciting. I'm going to spend my entire paycheck in the microtransaction shop. But seriously, I must be missing the appeal somewhere..

That was sort of my experience. This works better in real-time like SS13... very little to do as botanist. Perhaps go to nexus and research something that will never be used because we'll all die before it becomes useful?

It's not meant to be played constantly, it's a once a day kind of thing. Eating and lying down are definitely crucial to doing a lot.
The ship I was on just exploded because of hunters, laaame.

A Mush infiltrator used up all the food on the first day, and all the beds seem perpetually occupied. So... much like real life, I now just sit all day at my terminal. XD

Rest in bed... Get two AP points... One MP point... Boo.

Other then that, having a much better time in an actually game once I am off the newbie ship.

Seriously had more Glory at the start of day 3 then I did at the end of day 5 on the newbie ship, far less hunter attacks and they die much quicker... We had a single death though and that did not happen till day 4 in game. It was death by depression! Day 1!

Yeah, no one understands what exactly happen to poor Raluca. It was really weird.

I am guessing we also have a leveled up mush on board, as at start it said we only had one mush and since I haven't been one but I have leveled it up I can see an ability is to appear as a member of the crew on the counter. I checked and it said the dead person was not a mush, though I have no idea if the ability would affect a dead person.

It's actually a really good game with active shipmates and some roleplaying.

But I absolutely hate the AP/MP system. I'm all for slow games, but this one expects you to stay online constantly and yet stay in the same room. You can have long conversations with someone over the walkie talkie and never see them because your character is too fat and slow to walk down the corridor. I'd rather it be like Die2Nite, where you log on once a day and get a bucketload of APs which replenish at the start of the day.

I'd say that it's like Mafia, but the Mush powers are a bit too toned down. I'd prefer it if Mush were able to convert approx one person a day. Have never heard of a game where the Mush won.

But the fun is in the roleplaying and teamwork.

I did manage to win my first game as the mush. Not by converting everyone, but by the ship exploding because nobody killed the 10 hunters attacking us.

On a technicality, the destruction of the ship/everyone else dying is a win for the Mush... it is a very very low hanging fruit, but a true win is to convert each and everyone to the collective.

I started off my game as Stephen. There's not a whole lot to do as a chef, is there? I've generally been cooking, getting dirty, using all my movement to get to the shower, showering, then lying down. The recharge rate is abysmal. Even if it was 2 per cycle each, it would make things way nicer. I'm afraid to explore anything other than the kitchen, because I don't want to be sitting around in the storage rooms, waiting to regain my strength. At least Stephen has the excuse of looking like a fat bastard to explain why he takes 6 hours to get from the shower to his station.

edit: I'm sure things do get more exciting when things start to happen, but scouring the place for an apron doesn't count.

I gotta agree, you don't really have skills to do much of anything as Stephen, other then cook.  But... he could go to the Nexus and help out with the research there.
I guess repairs and fire fighting too if you have access to the wrench/fire extinguisher.

For showering, there is also the bar of soap.  Well worth going out of your way to take it to a dorm and keeping it there.

I'm currently playing as him also.  Also, cooked food can expire around midnight/day change, so make sure that there are people who are going to eat that cooked food before you cook em.

Team communication is key when figuring out where items are...   In my current play, the wrench stays in the central corridor and I guess the apron is in the garden with Ian.  I havn't cooked since the first day, since I guess we are rationing.

Like die2nite, you really have to meticulously plan out your moves, and communicate with the other players so that you don't step on each others toes. My current game has been fairly interesting, I got to explore my first planet, narrowly avoiding getting eaten by the Mankarog. Half the crew is inactive, but the rest bar a couple have been very active in discussion, so we've now got to a stage where paranoia is mounting and accusations are starting to fly. Tense stuff.

Maybe I'm just in the wrong mindset for this game. I'll give it another go tomorrow, when my energy is recharged.

I'm on my second life right now and I can't help but feel that I'd much rather play as a mush, trying to sabotage the ship. Just seems like it'd be way more interesting, trying to wreck things in a subtle fashion... rather than just playing a scripted role.
