I want my tallow stored near the soap making workshop but tallow is categorized with fat, its pre-processed form.  Is there a dfhack util or some way to get all the tallow marked without having to go through every one?

Yeah, this is an annoying one. It would be nice to have Tallow and Fat be in different stockpile sections.

I also wish that there was a stockpile option to seperate out worn or damaged clothing for trading or destruction.

You can do both of those things (sort of) with give and take settings on stockpile.

Create a stockpile that takes all kinds of fat, takes only from links, and have it take from all the kitchens (or just the kitchen that you use to process fat). That's now a tallow only stockpile.

Create a stockpile that takes clothing, takes only from links, and takes from all the clothier's shops. That's a stockpile for only new clothes. Create a separate stockpile with no links that accepts clothing, and takes from anywhere. All your old worn out clothing will collect there. Trade it or set the stockpile to also be a refuse pile and it will vanish.

The latest version of DFhack adds a search option to stockpile menus. Just search for "fat" and disable everything that pops up.

The latest version of DFhack adds a search option to stockpile menus. Just search for "fat" and disable everything that pops up.

There are hundreds and hundreds of entries. That's exactly what I did but it literally took 10 minutes of hitting arrowdown-enter over and over and over.  That's the repetitive stress.  I wanted a way to say, mark all currently shown (searched for) items as on or off. 

The give/take option is interesting, will explore it.

If you use the dfhack search function you can search for fat and then hit f to forbid all fat in the stockpile. Even though not shown, tallow will still be allowed as you can see when deleting the search term or by leaving and requerying the stockpile. Takes just seconds instead of minutes.
