I am with you.

Which version are we using, though? I think there's several Star Wars rpgs.

Pedia lists all the versions...

I'd imagine we'd be using the one on the bottom-the 'saga' edition and not the original/revised.

I can host the game without Hamachi if needed.

Hm.  We should probably get a Face character.  I can do it, if I have to, though I'm not super eager to make another talky talky guy right now.

I'm interested in what the setting will be-I can't say what I might create, assuming the time works for me.

The game will start fairly late in the year 0 BBY by the official timescale. For those less versed in the universe, the year 0 BBY ends with the Battle of Yavin, in which the first Death Star was destroyed.

The party will be employees of a small shipping company based on Alderaan, which specializes in medium-value goods from the Outer Rim. Due to the potential danger of piracy in these sectors, the company has secured Imperial licenses for moderate personal and vehicle armaments. Because of the legal circumstances, all weapons will be provided by the company, and not personally owned. (In practice, this merely means that your characters will have a few extra credits, and there may be legal complications down the road. You'll be starting out with 4 stripped-down Y-Wings (removing the Torpedo lauchers, gunner's seat, and Ion turret, as the company did not see a significant need for such heavy weapons, and declined to by the prohibitively expensive liscence fee. The missing systems were converted into small cargo bays that count as smuggling compartments) and a medium sized, lightly armed freighter. I'll have a full set of NPCs that the PCs will replace in whatever role they decide to take. (For example, there will be 4 NPC fighter pilots created. If Lucius decides to roll a fighter pilot, there will be 3 NPC fighter pilots.)

Apart from that, I'm intending this to be fairly sandboxy. If the party wants to join up with the Alliance (or Empire), turn pirate, or simply set up a cargo run; that's what we'll do.

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

I'mma be a droid. A really snarky one. If you've read Darths & Droids, I'll be similar to their R2D2.

1st Degree Astromech Droid, aw yeah(when the hell does R2D2 ever even need to make a strength check?). Although if we need a face I suppose I could be a protocol droid.

Plus I get a class. The system, with talent trees and such reminds me a lot of Etherscope, which I actually have the book for.

Edit: I don't get it. Shouldn't Alderaan be destroyed by now? If it's fairly late in the year...

The year ended with the destruction of the Death Star, which was a very short time after the planet was destroyed. The game will begin immediately after that destruction (The party was on a cargo run to Ketaris (Selling wine, and bringing back ore that was transshipped there) at the time.

As for you being a droid, I'm a little hesitant on that. Especially when you compare it to Pete. At the very least, I'm going to require all PCs to either speak Galactic Basic or purchase a translating droid.

I didn't mean the whistles n' shit. I meant the 'personality' of the droid.

I mean, I'd love to do whistles n' shit if we had mics and I had a week of not having to do anything else to find all the stuff for it, but.

Play what you want, then, as long as it's within the rules.

Answer:  Yes, I'm rolling a fighter pilot.  Was assuming this game would take place post-Endor, but all that affects is a few background bits I need to tweak for my character.

Also, all in favor of naming our freighter Serenity, say "Aye."

In response to another question I missed, the game will start at Level 1 using the 25 point buy listed in the rulebook.

If any of you want to jump on mibbit now and coordinate characters, #StarWarsShonus is open.
