Game is in progress, if anyone else wants to join...

Game is over...

A question arose over whether small starfighters were able to be modelled by the rules. It seems worth mentioning that, according to wookieepedia, the T.I.E. Fighter is only 6.5 metres long. Also, though these would not exist in large numbers, at least one member of the crew would be very interested in them and they are listed as being only 3.5 metres long...

Not much has changed since my last entry here, but I'm trying to make this a habit again.  Figure if I end up dying out on the Rim, the least I can do is give whoever salvages my ship something to read.  I'm still pissed, I'm still tired, still going through the motions.  Haven't heard anything more on the Civil War yet, but given what happened to Alderaan, big news is probably going to come in soon.  Good or bad, hard to say.

Bought a couple of R-22 Spearhead today, to replace the Y-wing I had been using.  Had to make E4 give them some repairs after his upgrades were finished, but it's looking like they'll be good ships.  Heavily modified from the base craft, and in all the ways I like.  Hyperdrive, heavy lasers, the works.  Always nice to see.  Course, I had to point it out and hint that I might bring the bucketheads in to get a decent price on it, but whatever works.

Still, now that's done, we can get off Abregado-Rae.  Maybe getting back into business will help.  I guess we'll see.

Contacts haven't opened up yet.  But after we do this comp run... we'll see what they have.

So, shall we assume, say, a thirty percent profit margin for the computers?

Alright, so we currently have 1103400 credits--150,000 of which is in a bank--assuming I didn't forget anything.

Cool, I guess. Not too much more money, but we're still building a cargo base, since we aren't even near max capacity yet. And still dealing in relatively cheap goods.

220K profit for that trip then. And then we should purchase bacta. Lots and lots of bacta. It's 100,000 credits(normally) for 1 ton of bacta, so... :L
820K of bacta should get us maybe 14-17 tons, since we're buying in bulk, from Thyferra. It's a rather valuable commodity. Not as valuable as thermal detonators, in terms of cost to weight/volume, but still. Should be able to get 40-60% profit at the very least. More likely around 80-90%. Raw Profit, that is; we still have to pay for all the ship upkeep and such, which can get rather expensive.

We really need to build up a few million credits worth of money to get trading effectively and set the foundations for a shipping company with multiple ships.

Do keep in mind that, with the galaxy entering a state of open warfare, a healing substance as potent as bacta is essentially one hell of a munition. That makes demand (and prices) go up, but neither side wants their opponents to have any, and that makes trading in it even more dangerous than pirates already do.

We could use a small for ship to ship transportation. I nominate the Nu-class attack shuttle due to its low price, fast hyperdrive, and large passenger capacity. Downsides include only 2 days of supplies and its size(Which is not all that large, smaller than a lambda, but still significant compared to a mobquet.). Potentially the weapons could be removed to facilitate additional supplies, faster subluminal propellers, and maybe a boarding grapple/tractor beam... Anything smaller and/or cheaper would obviously be advantageous... We should also look into upgrading to a larger and/or better transport.

The following vessels from the transport ships category all seemed worthy of special mention for some reason or other...
Mobquet(comparison), Loronar(Ridiculously cheap), Extreme cargo, , 36 metre long capital ship, Ludicrous cargo, silly in so many ways

Those all seem to be based on the old D6 game, which may account for the different assumptions that seem to have gone into them. The Loronar in particular is absolutely ludicrous. Smaller, cheaper, faster, and vastly more cargo than the Mobquet. Just doesn't make any sense at all. The rest don't seem too out of line, though I'd almost certainly chop a zero or two off the cargo capacity.
