Oh dear. So many terrible magma meme references. D:
At least the first wasn't filled with them.
I had a platinum goblet as my second (after a door artifact... as if I didn't have enough of those!). It was worth ... 72,000.
It pretty much doubled the value of my fortress on the status screen.
Must have still been from the era when I was first learning and barely figuring out how to have things not collapse.

I'd think you'd define it as any other body part. When you assign an attack using that body part, add [ATTACK_FLAG_EDGE] to the attack.
What Kweri said, although to make it more effective, you might need to alter the related bodyparts' relsize.
Also, to add variety to the stab and slash attack, you might as well add the [ATTACK_FLAG_CANLATCH] tag
to the stab attack, so that the creature's arms get stuck.

Finally, stab and slash attacks work better if their tissues are structural, in short, you might want to make a separate "blade" tissue using (possibly strengthened) bone as a material, like this:

[TISSUE:BLADE]
      [TISSUE_NAME:bone:bone]
      [TISSUE_MATERIAL:LOCAL_CREATURE_MAT:BONE]
      [STRUCTURAL]
      [RELATIVE_THICKNESS:3]
      [CONNECTS]
      [TISSUE_SHAPE:LAYER]
[TISSUE_LAYER:BY_CATEGORY:ARMS_BLADE:BLADE]

Of course, ARMS_BLADE stands for the necromorph's blade arms and blade is the tissue itself.
That is all for now.

Started out as a DF Modder. Now, I don't know how those tokens work. :/

Help! Im kinda new, and my new stonecrafters dwarf had a fey mood. I know that he needs stuff, but how do I find out what he needs!

Way back in the 2010 DF Questions thread. I feel like such a noob.

Edit:Thanks to My Name is Immaterial, he made it work :)

Haven't tried it yet, because I have yet to download the new version, but would it be possible to make a magma artillery gun using minecarts?  Fill the minecart with magma, send it down a ramp, and when it launches, it would spread teh magma everywhere?
Damn it first post and I misspell the.

It would be interesting if you tie specific tokens to bodyparts. For instance, [FLIER] to wings. Lose the wings, no more flying. Or [MILKABLE] to an udder (or whatever gland purring maggots have). Or [AMPHIBIOUS] to gills or similar.

Another thought (although probably difficult to implement) would be to implement age-based tokens. Particularly, I was thinking of the silk and leather tokens. I love the idea that while giant cave spider silk is generally pretty flammable, you could have the silk of a really, really ancient giant cave spider be as tough as steel, enabling you to weave a lovely magmaproof silk shirt. (Note: magmaproofing does not extend to wearer). Or using giant scorpion tails to build poisoned ballista bolts. Tie all this to the Animal Dissector skill, and you suddenly make a very rare and mostly useless job into the most popular dwarf in town.

Still think that would be nifty as hell. And that was almost five years ago to the day.

I think you can add [FLIER] to wings only.

Let's be brief here:
We don't have a massive group of cats and dogs because we prevent them from breeding.

I say that male pet cats should be available for castration to prevent catsplosion.

This should also be available for dogs as well, but of course, not birds.

I know this might be a bit hard to do, but it's the only way to stop them.

Yes, my first post on Bay12 was about catsplosions.
Wow, you wrote that on my birthday.

And, incidentally, I actually remember reading that post. I agreed with it, but I don't remember if I mentioned it in the thread.
*Checks link* No, I didn't. Now I feel bad.

It wasn't just about catsplosions, it was also about catstration.

I just realized (after years of playing DF) that you can designate digging areas over multiple z-levels by simply selecting the starting tile on the first z-level, going down the wished number of levels and then selecting the ending tile on the last level.

All the precious time wasted by stoicly designating stairs, going down a level, designating stairs, going down a level, etc like a robot. I always knew about the macro stuff, but never bothered to use it... but this, boy I feel like a caveman who miraculously got his hands on a futuristic fusion self-powered jackhammer and then used it like a deformed pickaxe to smash stone.
Actually, that's new as of the last major version IIRC  :P
You can!?! PRAISE THE MINERS!
That saved me so much damn time. So, much, time.
