((This right here is a great example of why I make sure my tags all match up. - GWG, you removed a quote start you didn't mean too, and the unclosed color tag from inside the quote it was nested in leaked out with the quote error, leading to your statement being colored orange instead of default black like you wanted it to be, and making it a little confusing to understand who is saying what (although not too badly).))

I'm thinking of NPCing Beruang until he shows up since he hasn't responded to my PMing him. - too tired now to run the turn, but will run it sometime tomorrow barring further interference.

((... Laziness ensued, and I forgot to run the turn. do it anyway? Y/N))
((Y))

Addendum: Is it possible to get that sword and run away?

A Storm's Coming
Turn 20: Wherein things get from bad to worse

If I live. I'm...developing my upper body strength. T_T

Akari wondered for a brief moment if her time in service on the airways was spent more on mental works than physical--given her prowess in trying to disarm a skeleton, and her knowledge on anatomy, it was truly said that...she needed more strength to crack these bones.

...Here they come.

Run and retreat! Retreat the other way I hear the other skellies coming from! If possible, get any discarded material and fling it the way I came, for...noise!

Find a cozy place to hide, preferably at an elevated area from my position.

This still works..
...
Also bandage myself if possible using..anything that I won't miss. Check self and examine own status.

Akari spd: 1-2
Akari luk: success
Skel spds (-1 modifier): 6, 5, 4, 2, 1
Skel luk: success, success
Skel strs (-1 modifier): 3, 2, 2
Skel luk: success, success
Akari stumbles as she tries to run with the skeleton's dropped blade, and sees three of her pursuers standing above her. She quickly rolls away from their downwards-rushing swords and hears them clatter against the cobbled stones beside her. She quickly rises to her feet and resumes running, sword still in hand, and all five of the new group of skeletons in pursuit, their ?comrade? left behind and abandoned in favor of chasing her.

Merik dropped to one knee, breathing and bleeding in almost equal measure. It was done. Now came the hard part. Escaping.
He tore open his pack, grabbing the least beautiful dress and tearing it into bandages. He wanted to get out of here before he went to work repairing himself in earnest, but he needed to patch enough of his holes that he wasn't going to lapse into eternal unconsciousness. In the fastest, most efficient way possible, Merik packed his wounds with bandages. It probably wouldn't stop the bleeding, but it might buy him enough time to find a place where he could use the bone shards to sew himself back together.
Merik stood up all the way as soon as the bloody work was done. Then, after a quick but bitter decision, he shifted. He might dislike being Sue, but if there was anyone left in this Godforsaken city, they were more likely to help her than him.

Grab bone shards, rip apart one dress for bandages. Hastily apply bandages. Shift into Sue, and get moving. Try to head mostly back towards where I started  (NOT USING THE WAY I CAME), but don't agonize over it. Look for a place to to get out of the way, a nook where I can hide. Preferable a building that I can slip inside of.
Merik Tou: 1-1
Merik luk: crit-fail
Merik luk: fail
Merik Will: 6-3 (Success because 6 on the die, despite impossible to succeed modifier)
As Merik carefully dug through his pack, trying to grab his worst dress, he feels a sudden overwhelming wave of nausea hit him, and before he can turn away he vomits a bloody mixture of breakfast and blood into his pack, ruining all his dresses. He attempts to re-coup the situation by just grabbing whatever dress he can to use as bandages for his chest wound, but the hole through him is leaking too fast for the light fabric to contain. Giving up on it as a wasted effort, he shifts into Sue, and she picks a random direction and just starts walking. She gets about a block? maybe? everything's so blurry, and this fog isn't helping any. from the scene of the fighting before feeling that she's at her limit, and only has a few seconds left before she's going to collapse.

Bleeding out: final turn.
((Feel free to ask me for information your character should have, sights, sounds, etc. I'm worried that If I say the information I think is important then it'll imply telling you what to do. Any "what do I see/hear/smell/etc questions I try to answer as soon as I see them, and don't count as a turn.))
That's fine I suppose.
The man unwraps his face, he appears to be middle-aged, and has a dark complexion. he looks mildly irritated.
Here, it's my face. It's all face-like. Yay, face. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to re-wrap this thing before the rest of it comes undone.
annnnnd his face is gone again.
Joe manages to mumble a question to the masked man about when he can go get the rest of the booze

Joe luk: ??
The masked man gives Joe a blank stare for several seconds before going back upstairs. He returns moments later with the same keg of swill Joe opened before, and wordlessly shoves it into Joe's hands.
"Hm. Do you have any idea if there's any friendly mages in the city who might know something about all of this? They might have some more specifics on what's going on, and what's actually capable of stopping all of this.

Anyway, one more thing, could you show me where this intersection is where they create more undead? I've got a reasonable amount of long-range firepower and a few enhancements to let me get away after using it. If the skeleton figure and the necromancers don't have some kind of magical protection against explosions, that might just solve things."

Realizing something, Raynen quickly added

"Also, directions to another hiding place would probably be good. I'm pretty sure I can outrun any skeletons trailing me, but I'd rather not risk lives in case I'm wrong."

Ask questions, contemplate effectiveness of various weaponry against skeletons.
"I'm sure there's some of the cloaked assholes lying around somewhere, but we haven't seen them roaming the streets none. As for the intersection... I suppose I could. I'd like o wait a couple hours for the ruckus upstairs to die down though."
((Ah.))

"Have you heard anything other than the lich news? Any pointers on where we could find more supplies, good hiding places, that kind of thing?"

Examine the others carefully. How do they look?
"I'd suggest just kinda looting the place. The skeletons don't seem to be worrying to much about what's inside the buildings as long as they don't see people moving around. You can make a hidey-hole out of just about anywhere you want to I think, as long as nobody else shows up and blows your cover."
Listen to what the man says, look around the cellar a bit
((Sorry about not answering these earlier))
The old woman seems to be aimlessly staring off into space, she's wrapped up under the same kind of grey blanket as everyone else but underneath that you can see the edges of a used-to-be-white shirt and a pair of breeches. Melinda has brown dress under her blanket, matching the brown dress worn by Gail. You can see a bags under their eyes, apparently they haven't been sleeping well... if at all. the whole place smells a little sweaty. You can see a collection of foodstuffs and other odds and ends at the back of the cellar.

Gail moves over to the old woman and quietly says "Um, Auntie? We have visitors, and one of them seems hurt."
"What?"
"We have hurt visitors Auntie."
"Speak up!"
"We. Have. Hurt. Visitors."
"Well why didn't you say so?!?"
the old woman looks around, then walks over to Melinda... followed by walking over to Joe. She looks him over.
"He isn't hurt Gail, he's just drunk. You should know better than that."
"The one to your left Auntie!"
"It's a good thing sound doesn't get out of this cellar very well. The shrew always makes such a racket..."
The woman walks over to Renard and leans forward until she's almost touching his chest, so close that he can feel her every breath against his skin.
"Looks like you got stabbed in the lung with a branding iron! And someone's already tried healing you once too. who did the work? Was it Aaron? It's just like him to leave work half-finished like this. Always running off after doing the bare minimum, talking about conserving himself for later patients. Like he had all that many! He doesn't see half the fools I do and you don't see me leaving the job half-done like that! Nuh-uh. So, do you want this done quick or painless?"
She's still staring at your chest, and you could swear that she's rocking forward and back in time with your breathing, just barely avoiding touching at any time.

((A few of you asked overlapping questions, If I missed one in your section, check the others for the answer. I figured it wouldn't make sense for Henry to be repeating himself constantly.))

"Thankun!" Joe exclaims as the booze is given to him. Sure its swill, but Joe is a man who left a loving family to participate in a stereotypical hobo contest. Sailor Swill is the best booze he's had in months, as during the contest preparation he made sure to only drink fermented cat urine.
THAT is dedication. And THAT is why Joe is now messily guzzling that keg in the most efficient way physically possible.

A Storm's Coming Turn 22) And we're down to four
« Reply #374 on: January 15, 2014, 04:51:51 pm »

it's almost been two weeks, I was planning on running turns every other day. Nuf's enough, though I did enjoy the excuse to be lazy.

Beruang's character is getting retconned into being a random NPC, and he's being removed from the waitlist, Rune is being removed from the waitlist as well. Merik isn't being retconned, but has lost consciousness in the streets, and his fate won't be known for a while, Draig said he was unable to keep up with this game in the enchanters of a shrouded river valley thread. Akari is also going to have her fate remain unknown for a while unless Tiruin posts. Raynen is going to be NPC'd and stay here until Nicolas posts. As a result of this, the "active" party is currently Joe, Pantagruel, Renard, and theoretically Angel though she doesn't have a bolded action and hasn't exactly joined the party. updating the OP and character info post after I post this turn.

"Well, I think we're going to head out  soon, so let's go with quick, shall we? Many thanks for your help, ma'am."

Say above, get healed. Once healed, stay with the group
"No problem, No problem, Don't worry, this won't"
OHGODOHGODOHGODOHGODWHYOHWHYOHWHYSWEETMOTHEROF
"take more than a moment"
Renard tou: 2-1
annnnnnd it's lights-out.
...
...
...
and you're awake again, and feel perfectly fine.
"Don't you dare try to pass out on me mister. You said you wanted it done fast, job's done. Now get outta here."
the old woman walks back over to Gail, positively cackleing with laughter as she does so.

It's still swill you know.

"Great. Thanks, friend. I guess that's all I wanted to ask, really. You seem to be almost as much in the dark as we, it seems. Well, no matter."

Your buddies haven't said they're going with you just yet, so you aren't moving. Though watching Renard try and fail to scream for a couple moments, collapse on the ground unconsious, and then get woken up by the old lady casting something on his head, was kinda a mix of amusing and terrifying. Looks like that hole in his chest is gone though.
