I just pushed release 0.5.7 out. I will send out the official release notification via IndieDB over the weekend. Until then, the release notes are available
here.
UPDATE: 0.5.7a is out now as well. I didn't like the fact that you used your bare hands to tear down crafting stations so I added a wrench tool for configuration and hammers are now used to dismantle things.
Great! Also, a niche completely unfilled, except by NWN, is delivering to gamers easy tools with which to create their own living worlds and allow them to run persistently and invite multiple players on at once. In a sense, a crossbreed of gaming table, MUD or MORPG, and RPG Game.
NWN provided a fairly solid set of tools to make this happen: check out the DM Client features: http://social.bioware.com/forum/Neverwinter-Nights-1/NwN-1-Dungeon-Masters-Realm/The-Dungeon-Master-Client-Info-and-FAQ-from-Bioware-3225258-1.html
There was also a mod that is very popular, the DMFI Wand, cant seem to find a full feature list but it added impressively useful tools. I also recommend just opening it up and playing as a DM if you havent already had that experience.
Granted, I realize this is your game and you have a vision already. Thats great, all I am saying is that so far, I have not seen any other graphical games that come close to filling that same niche as NWN persistent worlds. I look forward to seeing where this goes. Someone with a good plan and vision could even do much better than NWN for those purposes, if that were the goal.
One more thing I will say: the first game I ever find with all of those features, I for one would be a major supporter.
You are almost spot on with your comment about 'a crossbreed of gaming table, MUD or MORPG, and RPG Game'. That is fairly close to my end goal.
NWN was certainly one of the places I pulled inspiration from, despite not having played it in close to a decade. I should probably take your advice and give it another look, especially since I am unfamiliar with DMFI Wand.
I am looking forward to getting this to beta so that I can get back to concentrating on the editing mode / GM side of things.
Great! Yeah, I posted the bugs on Lugdunon forums since it seems very new and there were no posts, to encourage people to move reports there and get some momentum on reports or something
Me and my friends noticed that when changing hair colors, only some parts of it actually changes colors.
About the nasty stuck bug: that's great to hear. My char is stuck in my fenced area so I'm helpless without superior help
And the stick recipes, well.. I always end up with a lot of logs and sticks can be used really fast, so I thought maybe if converting logs into sticks was a good idea. Haven't thought about balancing or consequences of it, though.
I'll post whatever issues I find on Lugdunon forums and/or directly to JIRA via the bug report feature.
Thanks for that! You and Brash have been most helpful with getting issues reported and posting on the new forums.
I added the /stuck command. Hopefully it will fix your problem.
I also notice a lot of people attempting to use the non-existant /help command, so I added one in. Currently it just serves up some links to the wiki, however I will expand on it in the future to allow server-specific information to be added.
