Sorry for the double post, but here lies a backstory. How's it sit with everyone?
Genesis doesn't share anything about his life before he left the Elan enclave. When he left, he left nameless, which he doesn't explain, but probably has something to do with his past life. He joined an adventuring group and traveled fighting evil. He identified as Lawful Good back then, as he enjoyed turning the minions of evil against themselves. One day during his travels, he stepped in to solve a dispute between two rival families, and broke his one rule: Never use Telepathy on innocents. He prepared to be chased out of town as a criminal, but the shouting crowds outside were not calling for his head, they were celebrating: celebrating a pact of peace between the two families. He had ended a century long feud, that threatened the prosperity of the entire village. And he was the solution, not the problem. This event completely changed his world view, and he left that little village a changed man.
He left his friends, preferring to travel alone. He simply could not bring himself to kill anyone who could still redeem themselves. He traveled ahead of his old friends, preaching his new world view: When everyone agrees, everyone is happy. Not only did he preach, he practiced, solving disputes with small pressures of psionics, so both sides could come to an agreement that satisfied both equally. He moved ahead of his old friends, bringing redemption to those they would soon kill in the name of justice. He set himself to this task with a fervor typically seen in zealots. The only logic he could assign to his determination was that this was his own redemption, payback for a life of murder and genocide,
As he continued spreading his ideas, he became more and more radical, advocating that not only should true peace come from concordance, but from one leader, one who can properly fulfill everyone's needs and desires. As Genesis grew in power, he became to advocate that that leader to be a telepathic psion or wizard, anyone who can change people's minds, both figuratively and literally.
Recently, he has realized he can create this very world he dreams of. Believing himself the catalyst of this transformation, he has taken the name Genesis, and learned the ancient art of Thrallherding. He thinks that this is the most effective way to create a perfect world.
He found Slicer easily, as a psyche that has suffered through that much emits an almost tangible psionic field as a defense mechanism. Genesis could see when a god smiled, and now was the time. He had before him a hobgoblin who would make the perfect pawn in his game, a raging beast, full of anger and spite towards the old way. With the future waiting, Genesis offered Slicer a ship and a beer, both of which were accepted.
