Okay, doublepost, but I got the sheets for the crew done: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/43736274/NPC%20Sheets/Oblivion%20Crewmen.txt

At thirty crew, the ship is at full capacity with the exception of the holding cells. The mainstay of the crew consists of orcs and Hobgoblins, Both with ten beings of their race aboard. These should make good line crewmen for our operations.

Next up we have our more specialist crewmen; The Drow and Duergar. Both have five members aboard the ship. The Drow function mostly as sentries and watchmen keeping an eye on the horizon for whatever might come over it. The Duergar function not only as our heavy hitters, but perform well as part of a raiding group as well, and their immunity to being paralysed and poison making excellent guards as well (Their enlarge person spell-like ability should also be handy in a heavy fight as well.)

It will aid in RP for the Crew Sergeant to be able to call people out by name and nickname. Also, now Seldain needs to learn Orc, Goblin, Drow Sign Language, and probably Giant just in case some of the orcs or Hobgoblins know it. This way he can keep his eye out for rebellious behavior. What are the rules for learning new languages from exposure? Do I need to increase my intelligence before I can do so?

You'll probably need a teacher as well. Though only the drow have over 10 Int, so they're the only ones that need to be watched for irregular languages.

Well, my level 8 attribute point is going to Charisma because it's 13 and I hate uneven numbers. So I probably won't be able to learn a new language until level 12 or 16. Probably 16. I imagine Seldain could talk Raiss into watching the Drow for trouble, but getting her to teach him DSL might be out of the question.

It's INT, not CHA that governs starting bonus languages. And a new language can be picked up for a single skill point (If you don't intend to write it.) after character creation.

I can teach Celestial and Abyssal, but the likelihood of needing either of those is pretty low. That said, I can manifest the psionic equivalent of Tounges, so I can support communication for two people for a full day, in addition to the fact that my psicrystal can act as an interpreter.

1. Drow also speak Elven.
Spoiler: 2 (click to show/hide)
3. I'm pretty sure you technically need to spend skill points.

Actually, the skill point covers reading/writing and speaking.

Aforementioned retort:

"Cliches become such for a reason. In this case, the cliche is such because it is true. Being willing and able to take and hold something is, in fact, important. You can't dispute someone's arguments by how cliche they are."

1. Seldain speaks Elven and Undercommon. DSL is the only language of theirs that he can't speak.
2. That is glorious and I thank you for showing me.
3. This works out, because next level I'm going Rogue, and I think I might have a few skill points to spend.
4. How do you write Drow Sign Langauge? This would be an impressive skill. :P
5. That retort.

I've got 19 CHA, so I'd make a good negotiator.
Also, I just made some changes to my starting gear, and I now have exactly 15000 gp. Of that, I humbly lay 5000 at the captain's feet.
