Pikes, Peasants & Pillocks: Graphic Medieval RTD
« on: October 31, 2013, 03:27:43 pm »

On this rainy day in history, the vast armies of Yellonia and Greenius clash! Select your team and have your muddy prole stumble onto the battlefield! Will he be armed with a dangerous weapon or some rude words? Clad in a suit of armour or the suit his mother knitted in the womb? Only time (and a die) will tell!

Illustrated RTDs are almost always fun! Team Greenius will be victorious today, so I will join them.

Oh, I will have a suit knitted in my mother's womb, and some rude words (if I can choose I would like arsebiscuit and feckweasel) and I will join a randomly chosen team. If I can choose any of that that is. Feckweasel would be my main choice though.

With encouraging shoves from their respective commanders, the first two combatants stumble into focus! Nirur Torir, fighting for King Greenwold, is wearing [2] only the trendiest clothy rags (as advertised in Mud Weekly), wielding [3] a flimsy-looking pike and off-handing [6] a mighty tower shield that he can barely keep upright. King Yellorch's response lies in lawastooshort, wearing [5] a sturdy armoured surcoat (decorated in the colours of both the Redus and Blusonch kingdoms, bizarrely), wielding [6] a dense steel mace and off-handing [5] a tough iron shield, again decorated with the colours of houses not at all involved in the hostilities. Evidently, this man is colourblind.

"Charge in the name of King... er... Yellorch! Cursed be the feckweasels!

Run into the middle a bit, and smack anyone who comes near with my dense axe. Aim for the legs.

Hold my ground and form-up into a one-person pikesquare formation to defend myself against a possible enemy charge.

USEC_OFFICER joins the fray not far behind his comrade! While clad in [6] custom-fitted full plate, his armament appears to consist of [2] a leftover of last night's pre-battle drinking contest and [4] a relatively plain old heater shield. Perhaps he was too hungover to find his sword that morning.

Tomcost immodestly strides forward in [1] naught but some intimidating war paint, wielding a [4] short bow and [3] wooden bucker, reinforced with an iron centre. The angry face on his stomach is sure to strike fear (or mirth) into the hearts of his yellow-bellied yellow adversaries.

lawastooshort lets out a string of curses and rushes forward, [2] managing to trip over his own feet as he does so and barely avoiding flopping face-first into the marshy ground. He didn't make it as far into the field as he had hoped.

Urist Mc Dorf joins his comrade Tomcost in [1] his clothing-related protest, with only his striking beard to protect him from enemy blows since he [1] lacks a shield. That, and his [5] menacing short sword.

Nirur Torir readies his pike and [4] holds it firm in front of him, using his tower shield and pike in combination to present an intimidating obstacle to any who dare to charge his position.

Who needs weapons when you have armour?

Sally forth! (AKA move forward)

Also move forward! Direct laughter at naked enemy! Aim for the heart!

(edit: and then temporarily leave :( )

Luhf Monkeh, a dark skinned  Yellonia soldier who possess both massive black beard and hearty laugh, joins for the glory of King Yellorch.

Charge into melee range as fast as I can. If I fight well enough, maybe I can be promoted into a better regiment.
