Now i delved into Thatchery of dwarves today (and yesterday). Well it has a lot of old data:(
Entity file has reactions for it in 2 parts, and 6 of them do not exist anymore and 4 are edoubled, possibly giving errors:

Also scarecrow reaction (first one) should be disabled if thatchery is disabled and second one should be in another part of entity and disabled if kiln is disabled (then hay should be unbuyable too).

Ok. Thatchery reactions:

Sscarecrow reactions do not use any skill, which is bad, and herbalist skill is kind of strange for other reactions i think, it's more crafting than herbalism. Also - papyrus should be disabled with library.
And another note.... 1 plant can be made into... wheelbarrow O_O or bed.....also thatch BARREL O_O or bucket O_O My eyes are already in pain from all those O_O 's  Thatch cage wouldbe very strong one:) And bed needs added pillow or canvas i think. Also make all those reactions use 2-6 wicker_bales. And burrel and bucket should be smeared in clay and then kiln'ed. Maybe then they will hold water. Oh vials too............... thatch statue or tube sections is beyond even my irony:) I understand that giving people different oprions is good, but this is a bit .........unrealistic?

Other things to add if you want thatchery in your game:
in item_tool_masterwork.txt ALSO USED FOR KOBOLDS AND ORCS and scarecrow dead body

and WICKER inorganic material in inorganic_zmasterwork. Made specifically for thatch blocks to be stockpiled correctly, though only kobolds use it.

Kobolds and orcs also has thatchery, and maybe it can be linked to thatchery button too? Though it is pretty important for kobolds.Reactions are all practically the same (except blocks for kobolds...armok save - wicker blocks of all things.. and they are magma proof and good to stop a ballista shot.............)

can we adjust rusty steel and meteoric so they are less identical stat wise currently asides from a few tags that only see use with runes and DFHack auto syndrome for meteoric they are otherwise 100% identical in function.

i propose giving one of the 2 a 5-10% boost so that it's still weaker than steel but no longer the same as the other.
