Just a note, the aether does offer summoning of bear-ish things.

well to be fair he did say Bear-ish which implies things that are almost but not entirely completely unlike a bear.
and the fact that Primal should have actual Bears is merely omission.

on that note I have to give the author railroading (Aether) a -1 on principle.

Well we've clearly stated what we do not want,

perhaps the GM would be nice enough to offer us some Bear related options such as bear-warrior, bear-caster, bear-cleric, etc
personally I'm hoping for Bear-knight, a Bear in armor riding into combat atop a Bear

but one thing is certain if we do not end up a Bear the player retaliation will be unbearable.

And I say Primal. Out of the options we were given, that sounds most...bear-ish.
