The day when dwarves actually try to commit crimes, instead of just getting smacked around by a hammerer for taking the wrong craft to the depot, will be a very bad day.
I'd like that day actually. It feels wrong when dwarven justice equates to my legendary armorer putting his life on the line because the fortress cockroach mayor wants to get his daughter a shiny new toy for Chrustsmas when I don't have time to divert metal to his wish.

The fortresses are penal colonies.
The mountainhome has far too many degenerates too deal with by itself, so it sends out minor nobles to establish penal colonies across the world.

The day when you architecture will make actual sense and you will need to put load-bearing walls if you don't want your whole castle to come crashing down like a sand sculpture...
Funny thing is, the first three games I've played I was afraid to do any extensive horizontal mining for fear the ceiling would crumble over my poor miners, just because I had read on the wiki that "cave-ins" were actually a thing.

Yeah . . . the whole "You're not actually supposed to do no-item embarks" thing was in reference to DF taking up Gnomoria's track and forcing you to build items to build every workshop.  :P

The day when minor ailments like carpal tunnel syndrome are included in the game will be a majorly annoying day indeed.
