Like I said, the F510 (and presumably the F710) has a switch on the back the makes the computer recognize it as a direct input controller or an Xbox controller. Being able to play certain things that requires direct input is nice.

The Xbox controller cord thingy is pretty long, but like I forgot to mention in my previous post, plugging it into my computer didn't work *shrug*
If you're getting that F510 then you'd probably want a little extension for the USB cord. I just use it at my computer so the cord length is fine as it is.

Really hated Logitechs joysticks, at least on my old Rumblepad 2. They are oddly square-shaped and it makes it so I jump at weird angles. Made for some terrible disasters in Assassins Creed platforming for example, where I'd just jump at a diagonal when I meant to go straight.

Well, I ended up buying a Wii U Pro pad which should arrive on the 9th for pretty cheap . If it doesn't work out, then I'll just get a Logitech controller.

I realise not many people have talked about the Wii controllers, but I was won over by how attractive it is. I am an awful shopper, even after days of research. :(

I have personally been wanting a SteelSeries Free gamepad, but mostly because I am primarily a laptop gamer and "compact" combined with "wireless" is entirely too attractive.

That thing looks very neat, very cool design! Too small for my spidery fingers though. It reminds me of those tiny GBAs you could get.

Logitech wireless F710 user here. I have three of them.

Pros:
It's pretty much a combined best of the xbox360 controller and PS controller
Cheaper cost vs. xbox 360 controller
Good build - seems like it'll last a long time
For most games on windows 7, it works with plug and play
For other games, it works with xbox360 drivers
With extension cord, it works from across the room
Works with steam big picture and all controller-supported games I've tried on it
Works with emulators
Batteries last a long time

Cons:
Some games require fiddling with xbox360 drivers and setup
Nano receiver is pretty shit for signal distance. Plug the nano receiver into the extension cord and hide it to the side
Triggers are indeed heavier/harder to press than xbox360 controllers - I feel it's not as bad as some people complain though
I have heard that driver support on win8 is really wonky, but I wouldn't know. If you have win8, check first.

I definitely recommend them. Any other questions, ask away.
