Well, see, this is the problem sometimes when a turn comes along. I can't have a turn where no dice are rolled, so I can't just let you wait. So, how do I interpret your failure? Either you slip, or you accidently push the other player in. I couldn't decide, so, ultimately, I flipped a coin, and you got the short end of the stick. Luck also played a factor, and if you rolled a three or higher, your slip would have been towards the doorway, so you would not end up with this.

Also, unfortunately, horror movies have a horrid effect on paying attention when everyone is alive.

Turn 7: I Have No Idea What To Call This Turn

For the region roll I'd like to roll for a shrine room

Then I'd like a trap roll for a very ornate music box in the room just before the kitchen, that when opened plays this on continuous loop, forever. No way to turn it off.

(4) The next region, in which you have your full power, is an ancient lair of a cult. While the cult which ran it are long gone, the empty halls still contain remnants of their existence.


(So you want the box in the dining room?) (4) Behind the backs of those who have just entered the kitchen, you create a music box which suddenly appears on one of the tables. Its noise would fill the room its in, at least.

(I have no idea what you expect this to do. Which means it is probably part of some sinister plot. Or you screwing with the players.)

Pick up the journal and read it aloud.

(5) Picking up the journal, you quickly open it. Again, it only has one page filled. You read its contents out loud:


"So, you've found the second journal. You are but one step away from leaving this place. It is by no means the only one, but unless you wish to fight the master, it is your only chance. You see, there is a ritual, to make the being that controls this godsdamned place go back to sleep.

It is a simple, but cruel, ritual.

The ritual changes every game, so much I could glance from the text. It is simple, and always works. But, it requires a sacrifice. Find the library and find the book, it your best chance.

Your other option is to find the heart of Kor'rok and destroy it. I do not know what it is, we searched for 6 days and lost two of the children during that time to the traps and denizens of this place.

We chose the ritual.

We sacrificed the third child, and regained our freedom.

(6) You stare intently at the grenade. While you are not familiar with grenades, you can admit it does look a bit odd. I mean, beyond the giant 8 on it. You can't put your finger on why though. If you were only more familiar with these sorts of things...

(5) Searching around, there is no immediate things you could see which you could barricade with. You realize, however, that the shelves are large enough that they could block the trap door, and you promptly begin one of the shelves over. It will one more turn to push it over, however.

Find a weapon or failing that, something heavy to block it path.

(5) Searching around the room, you attempt to find an actual weapon. Searching on one shelf, you find a flare-gun, and several extra flares.

Check to make sure there's no string attached to the pin of the grenade, and take it. Also take a few of the billiard balls, in case I find a use for them.
