HAUNTED MANSION: A COMPETITIVE RTDHello Bay12, I am now hosting a series of competitive RTDs where you, the general players, are entering a mysterious mansion, and get trapped inside! But, one of the players, instead of entering with everyone else, controls the mansion itself in an attempt to kill every other player. Will the players escape? Or, will they learn why it sucks being in a horror RTD?
This RTD is basically set within a horror movie, as a side note, meaning that many horror tropes apply when needed.
1. Any Spoiler tag which has the name of a specific person or group is ONLY to be read by said group and by the “Mansion” player. Doing things in/or reference things in other peoples results outside of a group will result in extremely unlucky rolls determined by me instead of dice.
2. Inactivity of more than a week will lead to your character/the mansion running on Horror Movie logic (i.e. Your automated moves will be stupid beyond all relief)
3. If you are going to be gone, post and you get a grace period of 3 weeks where other players/the mansion can't harm you until you act. Once it runs out, your character might be given to someone in the waitlist.
4. Funny business IS allowed, but may not be the best idea for survival...
5. Winning the game, as any group, gives you an option of entering the next round without going through the waiting list. If a sole human wins, he has the option of becoming the next mansion player. You DO need to ask for this, though.
6. Remember that the game is based of the horror genre in general, and the results of your actions will be affected due to this...

“Living” Players (People who enter the Mansion)
1. While you are allowed to stretch your character's abilities, it is all within a average human's ability.
2. You are all, at least at the start, perfectly ordinary humans. You will survive just about anything a human can, but you can't truck through everything as easily if you are wounded.
3. You cannot actually kill the Mansion player, as your goal is to escape.
4. The first region of the Mansion (appropriately called “Mansion“) will never have an escape route.
5. Killing other human players, while inadvisable due to the fact that that means the mansion player can focus more on you, is allowed TO AN EXTENT. Sadism or killing rampages will bite you in the arse.
6. Players can discuss strategy OOC, and any information leaked out is immune to the “no spoilered information” rule. No using this rule as a loophole, however.
“Mansion” Player
1. You are not a physical entity, and cannot flat-out directly attack players (technically you can, but we'll get to that soon).
2. For your turn, PM me with what you want to do. This is so no player knows what you are going to do.
3. Every turn you get 2 dice to work with. You can, with the each turn, do several different rolls near specified players or hiding somewhere in the mansion itself. You have to announce what type of roll you are doing with each dice:
-----1. “Monster” Rolls: This kind of roll creates a living NPC which acts on its own to hinder players. Roll determines actual danger of the monster to a player. You can roll both of your dice on this to get a stronger monster. The player will specify what they want as a monster when the roll is announced. You can also say it is “general” to a region to make appear throughout the area, but also getting a penalty to your roll.
-----2. “Trap” Roll, which creates a trap in a room near the players. Roll determines lethality/visability of traps (the more lethal the trap, the more obvious.) Player states what group is the trap near and what the trap is.
-----3. “Hazard” Roll, which can create a hazard in a nearby room or in a room with a player in it. Creates some sort of environmental hazard to impede/harm the player. Roll determines whether you get what you want or not. Can only be done in regions which you have “made” yourself.
-----4. “Ghost” Roll, which you can do things like fling objects at the players, close doors, etc. It is tougher to throw larger objects, and you cannot affect things which players directly have. You can only throw things in regions which you have “made” yourself, unless the object is something pretty harmless, like a small rock.
4. Sometimes, I will specify at the bottom of the page that you will need to choose the next “region” of the mansion. Just announce a “Region” use of one of your dice to get some choice. Any region you yourself have chosen you get a +1 to all rolls in, along with the ability to do some specified things in the list above. This roll is not required, and if I have to I will make something up.
Monster Roll Strength:
(1) Roll Failed, Monster not created
(2) Illusionary Monster, Doesn't actually affect players beyond appearing to “exist”. Dies if any player moves into/attacks it.
(3) Obstruction, The Monster exists, but really can't harm players. Can only really slow them down. Can be killed with little effort.
(4) Threatening, The Monster exists, can certainly can hurt the players. Can be killed with greater effort.
(5) Dangerous, capable of almost killing players with ease, and can only be killed with a concerted effort.
(6-10) Deadly, capable of killing undefended players instantly, only the strongest of equipment can even harm this thing, let alone kill it.
(11-12) Stupidly Deadly, pretty much instant death for any but the insanely lucky, and is unable to die.
Name: You should know what to do with this.
Gender: For reference sake and to deal with horror tropes
Race: For horror tropes. Any sane person knows how this can make your life harder.
Age: For horror tropes. Has to be within reason.
Fear: For a sadistic Mansion's sake. Rolls dealing with interacting with directly thing have a -1. Must have at least one, but you can add more for a challenge.
Mansion: If you want to be the mansion, just make a application and state it on the bottom. Who gets to be it is determined randomly out of the people who wanted to be it.

The first seven complete applications can be assumed accepted, as long as their reasonable. Anyone who fails to get in will be on the waitlist, and will have to refill their application when the next round comes along.
