Roll for me!  Initiative +2
Kalnaf let's his draconic lineage creep into his voice.  "Stand fast!  Their blows sting less than they appear!"  (Swift Action: Activate Toughness aura; allies within 60 feet gain DR 1/magic.)  He draws his bow and nocks an arrow, loosing it at the nearest monkey he can see.  Attack +5, d6.

Rohan grabs his shield and tries to provide cover both himself and the persons near him.

Total Defence! Try to provide cover for my allies in the same boat as me.

"Friends! Comrades! Boatmen! They mean us, or at least do us, no harm! We should capture and dissect them, not crudely slaughter the- ooh, that one was a bit close. Oi! Tiny monkeys! Cease this eejitry or ye shall be crushed! Who is your master? We come to slay the piranha, not the tiny monkey - but we shall have no compunction in annihilating you entirely, and then dissecting and drawing you, if you persist in this course of action!"

Ask the tiny monkeys to stop in the four languages I speak. Also draw one in my journal. If diplomacy fails and more appear (enough to threaten damage) then shoot them with bow, after drawing.

"Huh... I don't usually see tiny monkey men until later..."

Looking towards Steffan Holdron gives a small grimace "Is now really the best time kid?"

Sit there and be as useless as possible. Also try not to get hit by arrows.

Vray ducks down behind the gunwales, draws her bow, and adresses the monkeys, starting with with Sylvan and moving through Common, Elven, Aquan then Undercommon, stopping if she gets a response in the same language.
"Why do you attack us, fur creatures? Who is your leader?"

Initiative roll =14

Ashura looked towards Steffan in disbelief "They are shooting arrows at us I don't think that counts as not wanting to harm us" as she spoke she pulled out her heavy crossbow and loaded it

"Given the number of arrows that missed us, they are either exceptionally poor shots, luring us into a trap, or attempting to scare us away."

"Why, Holdron - they harm us not, and I have always found this kind of thing fascinating - in some parts of the world they don't even believe in monkeys, let alone tiny monkeys. I agree with Vray that they may well be attempting to trap or frighten us, for I have rarely seen such incompetent primates. I say, didn't someone somewhere back in town want specimens of unusual animals? Tiny monkey archers might well be thought of as unusual... But if they can fashion and attempt to shoot bows, should they be thought of as mere animals? If they will not speak with us then we should pass on, since they seem unable to cause us more than slight annoyance."

"hey, hey, hey, hey- WATCH IT!!!"  Maru gave a scream of rage as the damn fool of an ogre reacted to the sudden attack, knocking Maru from her perch where she tumbled awkwardly for a few seconds before nearly plunging into the water.  "Damn it, fool.  Take us to the river, I'm getting a closer look.  I said we should have checked out these beasts..."

Maru waits for the canoe to reach the riverside then eagerly leaps to shore and creeps off into the underbrush.  She will sneak inland for about a minute then turn around if she hasn't confronted something by then.

"Halt!" Shouted Ashii at the monkeys, both in Common and Druidic. Damnation. She should have prayed for a Speak With Animals Spell.

If they don't halt, and if they injure one of us, attack by throwing bullets with my sling.

Eli ducked another badly placed arrow, or perhaps it was a large bird or insect. He really couldn't say.

"Hey Steffan, this reminds of that summer in Mariliath! Remember? That one time? With the spitting imps? You tried to talk to them too, remember what happened?"
