Samuel keeps going - he'll wait in the reception area for Security's return.

((Now's your chance, Kri, since I don't think a 5 or 6 minute difference would keep our timelines separate if you head to reception, since it'll take you as long to get there.. Want to lock our times together?))
(( Sure, why not. The question is how to actually roleplay this, which is a thing I may be too fried to figure out right now. I love Fridays XD
I'll post an action later tonight :P ))

(( Yeah, was mostly deciding between wandering around, leaving, and heading up to the pharmacy. This is more about deciding how exactly I want to hang around the reception. Or maybe I'll just say 'fuck roleplaying' and sit down in them middle of reception for no reason XD ))

*twitch* (My brain may still be fried XD)

... Right. Gods I must not have slept well...

Head back to reception to consider life further. Watch for increased security, distraught doctors, and medical professionals generally going batty. Try not to go insane myself.

You follow the map's directions toward surgery but find your way block by a locked pair of double doors that has a card reader next to it. Admittedly, people probably shouldn't be allowed to just wander into the surgical area of the hospital. Might lead to organ bandits or hungry raccoon problems...

((You'd be surprised.  My hospital:
Doc parking area:  Card readers
Wiring closets:  Card readers
Sleep center: Card reader
Doc lounge: Card reader
Main OR:  Go right on in))

Was this it, then?  Something related to doctors going crazy?  Did a drug screw up or something?  Hardly world ending, though... and that doesn't explain the message on the wall.  Maybe the audio logs would have something?

Look further into the audio.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You attempt to pull up a google search and instead open your email and click on every single suspicious looking entry. Your screen fills with pop ups of porn, prescription drugs and porn on prescription drugs. Gahhh. You try to close them but end up clicking on them. Your computer anti-virus starts crying. You try to unplug the computer, yanking on the cord like a madman until you accidentally tear the entire power cord and several other important parts out of the back of the computer. The sound of spontaneous electronic devastation so surprises you that you spin around and slap the monitor off the desk. It crashes to the ground and shatters.

"Huh..."

(Jesus, at this rate you could make all of the sentences 3rd person, and separate the characters actions into chapters and you have made a book!)
To a degree. Though the results of rolls might be a bit jarring. For instance, compare Toaster's last attempt to computer to his current one.

"Oh, bloody brilliant. I survive that crazy Doc, and what do they do? Stuff me in the damn game room.

Well, at least I won't bore myself to death."

Take closer stock of my surroundings (be sure to check what can be seen from the window), then either whip out a game to kill time or, if tired, try to get some rest.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Hmmm. Well the windows show you're still on the first floor at least. They're facing north, toward a large expanse of green fields and undeveloped nothingness, with some suburbs in the distance. The door to the game cabinet is unlocked and you have access to everything in there. There's not a lot in the way of dangerous or useful stuff. The chest set is metal, but everything is rounded; the checkers are plastic, board games are almost universally cardboard, and there's not exactly a croquet or golf set you could get a nice club from.

The tv has power and works, though you'll have to stand on a chair to change the channels. You can't move any of the tables or benches, they're all bolted down or together. You suppose you could watch tv to kill time, or just sleep on one of the tables, though it will be uncomfortable. You pace back and forth, trying to think of a plan.

Samuel keeps going - he'll wait in the reception area for Security's return.

((Now's your chance, Kri, since I don't think a 5 or 6 minute difference would keep our timelines separate if you head to reception, since it'll take you as long to get there.. Want to lock our times together?))

Thomas furrows his brow and, after a few minutes of thinking, decides to head back to the lobby. He probably can't do anything to help security anyways; better not to get in the way. Instead he heads out to the lobby, intent on giving the place one more look before maybe heading out. Instead, he finds a doctor talking to the receptionist and looking rather distraught and out of breath. He's telling her something about a doctor attacking him with an IV stand. She doesn't seem to know how to respond to it.

Watch tv, new or other sources of info. Reliable info, preferably. If nothing decent on, get some rest. Be sure to keep the cabinet open with that chess set within reach.

Search up 'safe houses' and try to find the closest one.

(Mm, maybe the rolls would be a bit jarring, but at the same time, it's easy to put in excuses for failing the computer roll anyway, or just water down the failings to make the same result, but the flavour text doesn't make him out to seem like an idiot flailing ineffectually like a starfish on meth *cough cough*

Only two players? Gahhh.

Watch tv, new or other sources of info. Reliable info, preferably. If nothing decent on, get some rest. Be sure to keep the cabinet open with that chess set within reach.

The tv programs on this early in the morning are lacking to say the least. There's basically nothing on but infomercials about exercise machines that look like bastard son of a treadmill and a windmill or this or that miracle product being demonstrated by fast talking, shouty men. The only news you can find is some sort of public access report. You sort of half watch as it meanders through sports and weather, but something strange happens as they switch over to a reporter who is supposed to be talking to some local shop owner or something similar.

The feed is off kilter and very near the ground, like the camera has been set down and is leaning to the side a bit. The video it's broadcasting is of a dark alleyway, the brick walls and garbage strewn concrete taking up most of the shot. Down, near the end of the dead end alley, is a person. They're huddled in the corner against the wall, all out of focus. You can hear them whispering something.

"The sky will burn. The sky will burn. The sky will burn..."

The video cuts back to the studio for a few seconds, where the amateur anchors are arguing with offscreen crewmen in a harsh whisper. Then it cuts to a "Technical difficulties" display of a cartoon camera man dropping his camera.

Search up 'safe houses' and try to find the closest one.

((Sorry piecewise! I was herp.))
The search for safe houses brings up pretty much nothing but a combination of survivalist or paranoid  home security "enthusiasts" talking about their personal bunker, or Children and Women's shelters dedicated to being a safe home to those who suffered from spousal abuse. Not exactly the sort of thing you were expected or needed.

((Oopsie.))

Brian stared at the ruins of his computer.  What was going on here?  Last night... was it catching up to him?  He thought of the pills, but he had already had one...

Maybe a nap would do some good; clear his head or something.  He still had no idea what he needed to do.

Naptime.

"Well, that was unnerving. Still better than the infomercials though."

More tv, or rest if no more information can be found.

(( Sorry, I suspect we're waiting on each other... sort of. That and bloody grad school XD

... also still having trouble figuring out what the appropriate intro is. ))

Thomas listens to the doctor for a moment before approaching the reception desk.

An IV Stand, huh? Geeze. A guy in the Snoozer lost it, there are security teams in the Morgue and Labs... maybe the end is near, eh? Certainly is chaos today...

He pauses for a second to glance around at security milling about to their latest emergency... they almost look more desperate now, running instead of walking, more alone instead of in pairs.

I'm kind of torn between trying to help sort this out and getting as far away from what is looking more and more like ground zero. Something is coming...

Converse! Continue observing the way of the lobby.

Well that was pointless. I suppose if things really go to shit I can go to the police station. No way that'll go wrong.

Idly look up survival guides and such.
Also check the time.
