"Oh, damn it all. I liked Buddy."

Get extra ammo if I haven't already. Then check if I have any rations. If not, get some. Then get to business.

"Ah well, can't win them all. Actually, this makes things neater. Morkas, you're on Team Bravo with me, Yudd and Matt. Tess slaps her head with an expression of mock surprise. "Ah geez, I'm getting ahead of myself, aren't I? My name's Captain Tess Cropper, but you can just call me Tess if ya want. I ain't one for formalities. That gal over there is Artemis, my S I C, and the rest of the folks here can introduce themselves as they see fit. Don't be so shy now, ya hear? I'll be off to check what junk they left in the pod for us, and when I come back I want to see everyone as the best of friends, alright?"

Tess grins and hands over the comm chip to Morkas before going off to look at the pod.

What now? Getting gear changes, checking stock or to the pods?
Also, you could always send off the grunts to get some food or something while the medics and non-coms get there gear.

((Listing what gear everyone has right now might be useful. Hard to know what we need/want when we don't know what we have.))

"Yesssi-Ma'am! Markus 'Cannonball' Dardumm at your service."  He booms in his gruff voice, a harsh sound like that of two rocks being rubbed together.   He snaps a sharp dwarfish salute which involves saluting form the beard instead of the forehead for that is where a dwarf's brain and power truly lies.  Taking the offered comm unit and placing it in his ear, Markus then makes the rounds being sure to gruffly shake every hand and personally introduce himself to everyone in new squad with a bit of colored commentary.

"Quite a big leadslinger you got there, be sure to leave a few blues for me when we see action." he mentions to Yudd as he sees the large HMG.

"I've got a reputation for getting a bit mauled in a confrontation, even though I give more than a get.  I'm sure we'll get to know each well in the days to come, he rumbles to Matt as he notices the abundance of medical supplies about him, But hopefully not too well. " he punctuates that final sentence by pointing a finger from his free hand at the body bags to show his meaning.

''Mac'' Mac shakes the hand of the newcomer before quietly thinking to himself: <we got another loud one.>

Mac double checks he has everything he needs... and sees about getting something better to eat if possible, before heading to the pods once ready.

Read the standard kit list, located under IT!
Also, you are getting shipped out with that shit. And you have a purifier, your half a bag and the still would knock you over...

Tess returns to the room. "Ya'd think that we're an entire regiment with all the stuff they're giving us."

Tess grins and holds the door open, motioning with her other hand. "Alright, come on folks. Pod's leaving soon and you don't wanna miss it. Unless ya don't mind latrine duty for the next month or two that is."

((Let's get this game moving already.))

EDIT: Tess calls up the Major to request some entrenchment supplies.

((They give us solar panels, water purifiers, and bicycles but no shovels, pickaxes or sandbags. Bit odd for an army, wouldn't you say?))

((Dunno, they seem to like doing things like that))

Tess calls the Major who simply decides to mute his end while screaming for half an hour, before finally unmuting it and stating simply that they have a place set up for you lot and if you want sandbags use the Foodsaks, that thats all they are good for anyways. She then decides to ask him about all the random crap, to which he replies that its needed for "hearts and minds bullshit".

Calming down a bit (Tess thinks she heard something break, and perhaps gunfire) he then states that he will have some moron throw a bunch of entrenchment tools and other tools on the thing, and will there be anything else?

"Well, a battle tank would be nice. Hmmm? Nah, my mother couldn't have done that. She's been dead for the past three years, god bless her soul. Alrighty, bye~"

Tess grins.

"And the brass wonders why we're losing this thing."

Tess's grin twitches a bit.

"Alright, come on folks, let's roll. Pod's awaiting."
