Hmmm, I think I did flub my math by an order of three.  Even edge-on, an immovable rod won't even visibly ding an iron plate.  Maybe if you sharpened it, but since the immovable rod is what fails first under that load, all you'd get is a pinprick.

What you need is an Immovable Adamantine Rod.

I'm not familiar with that.  Does the adamantine increase the force it can withstand before the magic fails, or does it just make the rod itself physically tougher?

No idea.

Ah, OK.  I was asking because, if it doesn't, it still only exerts, at most, 8000 lbf.  Oh, I just found a possibility.  It might work if you ruled that the rod counts as a weapon for the purposes of bypassing hardness. ^_^

Only if there isn't adamantine bow plating :P

Which you could do quite cheaply on a pinnacle, what with it only having one hull section there :P

4 actually.

Also, how thick would this iron plating need to be? Because a human can dent an iron plate if it's not too thick with a sledgehammer, which I'm fairly sure is less than 36kN spread out over larger than a 1 square inch area.

This was probably a mistake; yes, that's true.  I think, rather than trying to fix it and probably just breaking it further, I'll just call it here and set the maths aside.  As I noted, I'm not particularly good at it in either case. ^_^

So, I'm considering playing a Yuan-Ti Pureblood monk instead.

10d8+30 HP, bitches. Speaking of which, HP rolls. Just in case.

Would an animated shield impair me, by the way? Houseruling or no?

If you're taking the monstrous humanoid levels, you do go over the level 6 limit, FYI

Free Level adjustment. HD count for it; Pureblood is effectively +6 Level Adjustment.

Which means you wouldn't have any class levels.

Thanks to the homebrew rules, that is incorrect. Free Level Asjustment for every level you take in a Tier 5 class. Monks are a tier 5 class.

Edit: Err, okay, that's not totally correct, but it's what the Half-Dragon got. >.>

Actually, it's based more on relative power level. If you make some sort of ultramonk build, you don't need the LA.

>.> It only becomes an ultra monk at level 20. At level 6 it's just decent; only 8 shuriken a round, they get full AC, and not enough money for huge bonuses to damage.
