@Weirdsound: Depends on your class and power level. I'd prefer you stick to the official stuff.
@Gilgamesh: We start at a higher level so I can start throwing you some decent enemies, instead of orcs, more orcs, goblins, kobolds, and lizardmen all the time.
@Grek: Knowledge change approved.
@Spoon: Alignment restrictions can be changed for roleplaying, because that's just not fun.

I'll just go Hobgoblin then, if You'll let me ignore an LA of 1.

For a Dread Pirate? Sure thing.

I guess we know what the NPC crew will be then. Might suck a little for our good-aligned teammates though :P

Demons? They're the source of cheap labor to the less scrupulous.

Yeah, but those tend to get uppity. Now hobgoblins and orcs? Those tend to be reliable. So long as the captain beats it into their heads about who's boss.

I'm pretty sure somebody else is planning on going Honorable Dread Pirate. We might end up eventually having two pirate ships working towards their own goals and occasionally teaming up for whatever grand goal those dwarves mentioned in the OP have in mind for us.

For my ranger variant class, do I get Wild Shape and Fast Movement at the level of the things they replace, or at the level that a Druid or Barbarian would get the respective abilities?

Alright. Here is the sheet so far. Just need to think of a third feat, and then I can do my shopping. Any suggestions for said third feat?

Improved initiative is always nice. Combat reflexes gives you a few more AoOs to work with. Toughness is also a good one with the fix it got now.

Iron Will might be good. Just saying.

Alright. Iron Will. Can't have my pirate falling victim to mental manipulation from random low level mages who might get in my way. Also quite glad I put so many points into CON. Out of all the d8 I rolled only one turned up above 4.

On to shopping then. I think I may have asked this already, but can I have Tar craft stuff for me during character creation?
