UA Variant paladin then? A paladin of freedom could work on the honourable ship.

Or, you know, Cure spells.
Oh, right, Spirit Shaman, and also that Rangers get a limited spell list that includes Cure, too.  For some reason, I always forget. >_<

From what I have read of my ranger variant, it looks like I'll never improve the power or frequency of my Wild Shape, so I have no reason to take more levels in the class. I will likely take the full 10 levels in Dread Pirate, and a few dips into other classes for skills. I might dip into something for UMD in a level or two if it becomes clear we need it badly. Unless somebody can think of a good reason to put more levels into ranger, or a good 5 Level Prestige class for me, I full expect to be Captain Skill Monkey in the long run.

On the topic of healing, I can apply 1d10+5 Temporary HP, twice per day. To myself, but if you die with thirty bazillion HP, it's your problem.

Could take five levels of swordsage. Depending on the level you first take it, you could get some very nice manoeuvres (Death mark) straight from the get-go. And before you ask, Death mark just blows up a foe if you hit, making a nice, fiery explosion that you happen to be immune from.

...curse you.  I just finished building Vodya's spell list, too.  Welp, time to start gods-shopping.  :D

Don't need to have a god to be a paladin though. Bonus point if you take half-celestial and lycanthrope (Shark or something), because an angelic flying shark would scare the absolute SHIT out of evil XD

I... dislike... Paladins "of Freedom".

Also, my Surrah is a Rogue as well. She's not exactly the kind of Rogue to pick locks, though. She has other methods.
...DUEWL OF MIND!

Well, hopefully, all I have to do is just jump aboard the other ship and start bathing in their blood as I wreck faces with my berserker

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Nah, just using the intimidate skill in battle, as outlined in the ToB.

@Gwg: I have to admit, that's an awesome character concept...
Mind if I ask what's so awesome about it?

Surrah's favoured method of sailing also involves staring threateningly at the figurehead until the ships starts moving out of sheer awkwardness.

Hehe, I think we did. Or atleast posted them a nanosecond apart so :P

And in any case, any engagement between the two parties would be bloody, and quite likely end in a victory for team evil (35 AC and a bucketload of crossbows, woo)

Hmmm, in the end, I think I'll stick with Vodya.  A windwitch is always useful, after all, makes more sense aboard a ship, and doesn't have the serious issues with code of conduct association that may appear if our crews ever have to work together on some archipelago-spanning crisis.  Plus, her sheet is closer to completion.
