Polydactylism is the term. I've got a big ol' fattie cat and I'd have to say he was a maine coon. He's got the M on his head and the nice thick fur coat. He's really REALLY lazy. He lies in his cat bed ontop of the dryer and washer and stretch across to eat his food. I've seen it. He's pretty darn adorable and frisky even though he's at least ten years old.
This sounds a lot like my cat. He certainly is very fat.

Could someone explain why my cat (or all cats, I don't know) is randomly seized with the desire to bite? Someone will be walking across the Foyer and then he'll sneak up behind and start biting.

Not sure how good this website is about the subject, but I thought it could be worth a read.

I have a big, fat, lazy cat called Felix. He likes rubbing our legs, sleeping and going outside to do whatever. He's not the kind of cat you can just pick up and cuddle, but he likes being petted anyway and generally won't attack (without warning).

Sadly, he also has cat aids since birth. He's about 7 and a half years old now. He doesn't really meow much at all, he just purrs loudly and yawns every now and then.

Pics soon :3
Aww, one of my cats are named Felix, he is also lazy, but not really big and fat.
Still on the tubby side, though, and he purrs loud enough to wake me up at night, and never shuts up.

I'm sorry about the condition, though.

Heh. My cat loves biting me but she never punctures the skin and always licks my hand afterwards :3

Too bad she doesn't realize claws can be sharp too ;_; ouch

We have a cat. She has no race to speak of, just a normal cat.
She is very thin, with big ears and a long tail. It doesn't help that she also likes to extend herself a maximum, especially when in someone's arms.
She is very affectuous and likes to cuddle with everyone (except strangers).
A good huntress, too. She brought us numerous bits of mice, some birds, and in one occasion we simultaneously found a big rat, a frog and a frigging egg on our doorstep.
We were particularly impressed by the egg. It was intact, save for four teeth marks. We could not determine from which bird species it was.

So if I were to get a cat with the intention of keeping it inside mostly, would it be good or bad to have it declawed? I have heard that some people are dead against it, and I'm just wondering why.

Housemate has two cats, Langston and Madeline.

Langston is a very sweet but skittish black shorthair. Madeline is a feather duster with legs.
