Missiles have a higher damage oupu- OH! We could do BOTH! Lasereyebots would need to be bigger for the power rig, course we could mount some extra engines on them to make them go quicker and missileeyebots could just have a missile mounted on the outside with a targeting system. They could travel in mixed swarms.

Also btw @adwarf, if you have enough weak sensors, you can actually track and see individual dust particles on a planet across the system. If you had 2,000 eyes and the right type of brain, you could watch the Chinese Moon Rover move around by simply looking at it from the ground.

If you don't want us spamming weak sensors to see everything then just make it a lack of proper coding to coordinate the sensors and make a actual image out of a fuckton of different eyes. Then let us upgrade that with research. Sure better sensors are nice, however, you don't need one advanced sensor when 50 basic would do just fine. I can link scientific articles and whatnot for you if you would like in relation to this. I was really interested in telescopes and optics at one point which is why I know this random crap.
Already planned to give you a message, that basically would mean you cannot build multiple of a type of sensor, if you guys tried to :P

So it's a directive?

Nope just a GM enforced rule for my sanity, and book keeping, and what not.

So could we have a research option of enhancing the sensors via reprogramming so we can get more?

You can improve your sensors, and build said improved versions. You will not be able to build multiple of the same sensor in a single structure, well you could but it would be a waste of resources as it'd have no effect, all it'd do is let you have a backup if the other is destroyed.

I vote we don't tell either side that we're negotiating for information with the other. Then compare their statements.

It might do well to remember that the Technocracy is likely the own faction on this planet that actually has the tech needed to hurt us. It's already been mentioned that they have weapons that could fire from the planet surface out into space. At least, I'm remembering things correctly anyways. That's just the physical threats though, from what we've heard of the Technocracy, they seem to be rather power hungry. They might view us as a threat to their power and try to control us. That and it is mentioned that they are military, they might have the codes/programs required to change our directives around. I'd rather we didn't end up a puppet to a 'foreign power' for what it's worth.

They can fire from planet to space if they divert all available power to one unit, leaving them wide open to counter attack.

Which is partly reason why I want their coordinates. Get our canons into place so that we can strike first if needed.

Edit;
Not needed! Just ask the hounds for all relevant military data they have on the techs... After sharing the coordinates to their own base, why would they ever hold out on us about their enemies' one?

It may be worth putting eyebots-  or modified versions thereof- into orbit, to watch the planet.

We should put eyebots EVERYWHERE in the star system. And we should give the eyebots the ability to make moar eyebots.

WE CAN SEE EVERYTHING MUAHAHAHAAAHAAHH

(The eyebots are going to go haywire and reproduce without our consent.  THEY WILL SEE EVERYTHING)

Even if they reproduce without our consent, we still will get sensor feeds from them,all we need to do is make sure they don't infect us with their cancerous reproduction.
