I remember that someone had said earlier they wanted to try and salvage some of the heavy weapons for deconstruction/research, but truth be told, we could get tech stuffs from the defenders, as well as tech from the weapons dropped by the infantry. taking an intact heavy vehicle will be nigh impossible.

Enemy Casualties: 20 infantry, total 12 heavy vehicles.
Friendly Casualties: 20 Infantry, two wall cannons.
Our Casualties: None.

Strike Two:

>Move Spiderbots in to attack. Gauge arrival time. Have Spiderbots, on arrival, engage infantry ONLY. They're unlikely to deal significant damage to heavy vehicles, and they are dropping friendly infantry quickly.
> As soon as the Spiderbots engage, have the Bomber deliver it's second payload. Time is estimated given by the guess in Phase One. After the Bomber delivers its payload, have it immediately return to the Corvette, so as to hope it might escape destruction. Bomber delivers payload again only to heavy armored.
> Fighters continue to strafe. In the event one becomes damaged but not destroyed, return to the corvette. There is only so much we can do. Timing between the drones is insignificant here.
> Spiderbots use their speed to their advantage. Never stop moving, and preferably get as close to the infantry as possible. If we get hit by those heavy weapons, so do their infantry.

>In the event that Spiderbots wipe out opposing infantry before heavy armor is destroyed, attempt to distract the heavy units so the wall turrets can crush them. Fire where possible, but is not the main priority.
Currently +2 (xtank gave +1)

It'll take more than 5 minutes for the spiderdrones to engage. We need to take out those armored units now, because they're the ones picking of the wall turrets. ((The only other ones that can damage them))

Otherwise, nothing special.

+1 to bombers not waiting on spider drones

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

While the momentary confusion and breaking of ranks would provide quite the boost to our spiderbots assault, Ishare the view of the two previous posters. Once we beat their heavies, we are bound to win - since they are key, they also get highest priority.

Else complete agreement to ice' plan.

Besides, once the heavies are down, we might even be able to bring in the mining corvette for faster evacuation.

I think fighters should fire their Lynx Interceptor Missiles into the heavies, with a lucky shot it should deliver a decent damage, even if it is not that kind of missile designed to punch trough armor

Actually, that's a great idea. It may well be designed to punch through armor, just not a ground target. +1

I agree with destroying their heavy guns first.  They're the most likely candidates for harming our own large vessels, and assuming their infantry is human, it may break their morale, as well.  Also, I agree with pressing our advantage.  We can't let up our attacks, or they'll rally and change formation to one more adapted to our tactics.

The battle continues on as you send out new orders to your units, your fighter drones expertly  suppress the enemy infantry whenever a lull appears in your ally force's fire patterns. Despite the covering fire of the fighter drones more of the bipedal warriors begin to get picked off, and the casualties on the defender's side begin to mount only for the battle to turn within moments. As the enemy heavy vehicles take down two more of the defense emplacements your fighter-bomber expertly drops the last of its payload into their midst, destroying half of the remaining machines and leaving the rest in disarray as the defensive emplacements begin to pick off the last survivors of the armor column.

The sight of the heavy vehicles being wiped out crushes the last bits of morale that the uniformed soldiers hold and they break before the withering fire of the defenders, sadly very few of the soldiers are brought down in the unorganized retreat. Of course that matters not for as the soldiers come face to face with your assault droids, a well calculated, uncaring massacre begins as your droids relentlessly pursue the soldiers or advance upon those few positions they decide to dig into. All in all the force of nearly twenty soldiers is slaughtered with minimal losses to your ground forces, a total of four droids being rendered useless in the attack. With the enemy forces wiped out you return the drones to the corvette's cargo bay as it lifts off to land closer to the mountain fortress, meanwhile your assault droids advance towards the fortress and are met cheers, and words of thanks from the bipedal fighters, their voices slightly mechanical as they come through the speakers of their crude, possibly salvaged suits.

One of the figures walks forward, his suit covered in metal plates and a strange gun strapped to his back that resembles both the handheld energy weapons of the uniformed soldiers and the compact slugthrowers of the disorganized defenders. In his right hand is a small pad of some sort, and in his left is a few cords, he waves vaguely at one of the assault droids as if calling it forward, and feeling perfectly secure in your forces ability to defend themselves should it come to it you draw the droid forward. As it draws close the man moves forward sweeping his hand over the drones shell till he finds a small access plate which he easily shoves aside before reaching his hand in and connecting the wires to a handful of outlets and exposed wires within.

In moments you hear a voice speaking over your radio frequency, strangely enough the voice is the same as the Pentus Graham fellow who had contacted you the first time,

"Hey Aegis you there? Wait, what am I saying, of course you're there you are a highly advanced AI after all so you'd most assuredly be connected to any of the forces you built or deployed, especially with them being so close to your ... what do you AIs call them? Shells or something? Anyway thanks for your help, if you hadn't came to our aid when you did a lot more of my men would have died and Granholm would be burning even now, I know there is a lot you must want to ask so fire away. I've already redeployed most of the men here to support the forces underground so for the time being we're under no danger of another attack happening for sometime."

Let's make a list shall we?
    -Who are they?
    -Who are the enemy?
-How many of both are there and where?
-Any significant ground to space attack capabilities?
-What's the origin of the conflict?
    -What happened with the moon?

Also, fire away is not a smart thing to tell to the AI with an orbital doomsday weapon of kinetic destruction.

- Do you need aid for the underground battle?
- What resources can you offer?

Get the drones to start collecting tech samples from the attackers.  We will need to research them for their weaknesses and strengths.
