Consider that it's very possible that this could be a trick. They seem to be fighting amongst themselves, unless they are fighting extraterrestrials. Just keeping in mind that this could go tragically bad for us, I think we should send an Eye scout drone ahead of our units, and relay the information back to us. I would say that we should send the drone to arrive about an thirty or so minutes before our units arrive, and then send the information to the units. Then decide whether or not to get involved.

Just consider that if they can't fight this off, and whether or not we can. And if we can't, then we are about to make some dangerous enemies.

Of course, nukes

(There was some confusion earlier as to whether we're orbiting a moon that's orbiting the ruins of a planet, or whether we're orbiting a  planet that has has its moon destroyed.  I suppose it is the former, in which case our drones being able to fly away makes more sense.)

I agree with Icefire.  We should find out what we're up against before overcommiting ourselves.  We have no idea what's going on here;  for all we know, the person who called us could be just as antagonistic as their enemies.

To address some concerns your hauler drones could in fact carry them down (about ten spider drones per hauler) though that has the downside of them being very vulnerable to attack from AA not to mention they simply won't be able to leave without being loaded aboard something like a corvette after they're landed, they really aren't meant to be used as landers. On the other hand your corvette could also carry them down, quite a few of them in fact, around one hundred and twenty if you take up all the available cargo space on the ship, it would of course easily be able to escape the moon's gravity.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The only drones you sent down to the surface were your 'Eye' Drones which have a much better thrust then any of your other drones because their sole purpose is to scout things out for you, and get away intact afterwards. Also its a moon, not a planet, from what you can tell it has an extremely thin atmosphere on it.

Ah, there we go.

I suggest we send three eye drones (if we have them ready) down to the planet, specifically to the aforemented coordinates to assess the situation, followed by the corvette with 90% of our spiders.

If we do risk corvette, we should send all our fighter bombers and fighter escorts to defend it and act as fire support

I prefer to not be to careful, we don't lose that much because our turrets and interceptor drones will still be present in case if we lose the striking group

Oh, yeah.  I forgot the fighters and bombers.

Load all our fighting units into the corvette save a few to protect the station-  if we can't fit them all, all the better.  Then send the eye drones down first.

Indeed, plot is vital.  We must gather more.  In any case, interacting with these people on the planet sounds interesting.

You quickly begin to organize a relief force when the transmission cuts off, ordering the Mining Corvette to dock you send 30 of the assault droids to make their way into the ship's cargo bay before turning your attention to the fighters. Doing quick calculations you figure you have enough space to get three drones on board with the assault droids and send two of your escort fighters and one fighter-bomber to land in the corvette as well. As your forces get into place you suddenly begin getting small energy readings on the surface of the moon arrayed along the edge of the mountain range you are moving your forces to, with this in mind you send down two of your Eye Scout Drones to give you a view of the battle as the Corvette undocks and begins to move towards the moon for landing.

The Eye Drones speed far ahead of the Corvette moving at max speed up to the very moment they hit the edge of the atmosphere, slowing down for safe entry they angle towards their target and you are forced to wait the few minutes it takes for them to enter the atmosphere and then stabilize. What your sensors pick up is quite astounding as they pick up nearly two dozen heavy vehicles armed with some form of energy weapons, and dozens of bipedal figures clad in bulky white uniforms wielding handheld versions of those weapons on the heavy vehicles. In the ridge-line you can see what has to be a hundred of the bipedal figures but instead of wielding energy weapons they seem to be firing weapons much akin to those on your assault droids, and they are wearing crude versions of the of the white uniforms painted shades of dull grey and brown to blend in with the planet's surface.

Further back behind the creatures in the crude grey and brown uniforms is where the signal is coming from, a simple wall built from the same dull stone as the mountain surrounding a massive steel-grey blast door carved into the face of the mountain. From the walls heavy weapons blast down at the assaulting white uniformed soldiers, even as you watch one of the emplacements on the walls manages to deal a death blow to one of the heavy vehicles to be torn apart mere seconds later as three of the heavy energy weapons tear the section of wall to shreds.

Taking the situation into account you notice a few things, the white uniformed units have their entire attention devoted towards the fortress further up the mountain, not a single one seems to be paying attention to their rear as if they expect no resistance from that angle. Most of the heavy vehicles are grouped together towards the center pushing every onwards towards the entrance into the mountain, the infantry strung out to either side acting in support of the armor's push. With this in mind you ponder how to best to deploy ...

As we, likely, have no enemy airforce in the area - fighters to go strafing on the heavy units, while corvette to land in safe distance behind their lines and send spider bots on attack. Even if we lose some time to join landf battle, aitforce should halt the assault for some time

The bomber should unload it's kraken missiles in the midst of enemy formation in solo surprise attack, then retreat and allow lighter fighters to do strafing runs on targets of opportunity.

Have our air support take out their vehicles while our corvette lands at the fastest possible safe speed behind their lines. Our "infantry" will attack in a pincer formation.

What if we built a scaled-up spiderbot frame and then stuck an assault cannon and a pair of slugthrowers on it, to serve as a heavy support unit?

Research feasibility of the above.

EDIT: ...We have heavy railguns. What exactly would happen if we fired a shot into the middle of the enemy formation? We have spotters near the ground as well.
If a railgun strike is able to punch through the atmosphere and deliver significant damage without vaporizing the people we're trying to defend, FIRE!
Can we make out any kind of enemy command vehicle? If so, destroying it should be the primary objective of our air and orbital forces.

-1 lets see what we can recover from here first, if we can piece together a few heavy vehicles we can send them in for disassembly and get both heavy vehicles and energy weapons with the same research slot.

Fighters + Bombers -> heavy vehicles in a surprise strafing run.
Spiderbots ->infantry simultaneously with surprise strafing run to ensure maximum demoralization.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

You have heavy railguns yes but they wouldn't be able to hit the enemy, the only thing you have that can hit the planet from orbit is the Orbital Railgun.
