You quickly begin to organize a relief force when the transmission cuts off, ordering the Mining Corvette to dock you send 30 of the assault droids to make their way into the ship's cargo bay before turning your attention to the fighters. Doing quick calculations you figure you have enough space to get three drones on board with the assault droids and send two of your escort fighters and one fighter-bomber to land in the corvette as well. As your forces get into place you suddenly begin getting small energy readings on the surface of the moon arrayed along the edge of the mountain range you are moving your forces to, with this in mind you send down two of your Eye Scout Drones to give you a view of the battle as the Corvette undocks and begins to move towards the moon for landing.
The Eye Drones speed far ahead of the Corvette moving at max speed up to the very moment they hit the edge of the atmosphere, slowing down for safe entry they angle towards their target and you are forced to wait the few minutes it takes for them to enter the atmosphere and then stabilize. What your sensors pick up is quite astounding as they pick up nearly two dozen heavy vehicles armed with some form of energy weapons, and dozens of bipedal figures clad in bulky white uniforms wielding handheld versions of those weapons on the heavy vehicles. In the ridge-line you can see what has to be a hundred of the bipedal figures but instead of wielding energy weapons they seem to be firing weapons much akin to those on your assault droids, and they are wearing crude versions of the of the white uniforms painted shades of dull grey and brown to blend in with the planet's surface.
Further back behind the creatures in the crude grey and brown uniforms is where the signal is coming from, a simple wall built from the same dull stone as the mountain surrounding a massive steel-grey blast door carved into the face of the mountain. From the walls heavy weapons blast down at the assaulting white uniformed soldiers, even as you watch one of the emplacements on the walls manages to deal a death blow to one of the heavy vehicles to be torn apart mere seconds later as three of the heavy energy weapons tear the section of wall to shreds.
Taking the situation into account you notice a few things, the white uniformed units have their entire attention devoted towards the fortress further up the mountain, not a single one seems to be paying attention to their rear as if they expect no resistance from that angle. Most of the heavy vehicles are grouped together towards the center pushing every onwards towards the entrance into the mountain, the infantry strung out to either side acting in support of the armor's push. With this in mind you ponder how to best to deploy ...

As a notice combat will be primarily narrative and story driven, I will use the weapons of units, their armor, their speeds, and a handful of rolls to decide how battle goes, but for the most part it'll be me deciding how things just what all of those things together cause be it win or loss
