((Erm... Sorry, but do we know how our thrusters work and whether they require fuel we can run out of?  It's kind of vital.))

Spoiler: Notes (click to show/hide)

As for how your thrusters work, they are simple things designed to allow you maintain a stable orbit and that is it, they don't have the power to move the station like a ship nor do they have the power to make you dodge projectiles like missiles.

>Optimize internal storage within the hull. (Even if it takes several turns.)

Should hopefully free up some room within the hull, since quite a couple of our systems were already in place when we awoke and over time have likely been strewn about.

Look into our databases.  Is there any information on thruster technology and the fuel required for it?  Some kind of rocket must have put us here, and being able to dodge missiles and change our orbit will probably come in handy eventually.

((Yes, I am obsessed with thrusters.))

Shouldn't we repair our hull? I prefer not have holes when we'll encounter first enemy

Eh, personally, I'd ratherput our core into a new shell, eventually, rather than waste resources on this old satellite.

NO NO NO

This satellite is important. I think I might already know what the satellite was for, why we are here, and what happened to our creators. I'm not going to spoil it in case I'm right, but everything has fit together so far.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure there will be a directive preventing that.

We can keep the satellite around, if you think it's important.  Just move our core to a new, bigger, more durable hull that's not forced to orbit in a certain, predictable way around a moon inhabited by unfriendly organisms.  With laser weaponry.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure there will be a directive preventing that.

I doubt it, but if there is, we'll just modify and enlarge our current hull to the point that it wouldn't qualify as a satellite anymore-  I'd think some kind of warship.  But as always, the majority rules.

Even if there is a directive preventing the transfer of our AI core to another vessel/sattelite theres nothing preventing us from building a battleship around it.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

I think you guys got the wrong idea about the size of our satellite. It isn't actually a mere satellite after all, it's a bit larger, kind of like a small starbase. I honestly doubt we can build something larger and better protected now in a reasonable timeframe.

its a goal to work towards, we need a larger shipyard capable of building carriers/battleships before we can do either anyway.

Well, technically, you don't. This is space, you don't need to have a giant dock to put your ships in.

With the way FTL works in this setting - warping space instead of lolphysics-acceleration - upgradeing us to a planetoid structure which is capable of FTL is actually feasible. The perks of attaining enough mass to produce gravity are actually quite neat - a mercury-based shield is not only passive, it also perceivable more realistic than an energy one. Think of a sludgy ocean coating our outsides - that takes some brunt of most attacks!*
