Find out what we use as rocket fuel for moving stuff (e.g. Drones) around.  Do our thrusters rely on stocks of some kind of chemical fuel that can run out?  If so, research using pure electric energy as a propulsion method.  We do *not* want to run out of fuel.

Not having the advanced electronics needed for the Orbital Research Lab you focus your attentions on research for the time being, absentmindedly ordering the construction of another mine and a group of spider bot droids as you go. You lay into the research with a vengeance, but run into dozens of minor bumps trying to figure out the best delivery system for ammunition to the Orbital Railgun, or how to route wiring through the frigate to keep it from burning itself out should you reach the point where you're using energy weaponry. In the end you make a breakthrough on the Orbital Railgun front, but fail on both of the other research projects, of course that is until you find something quite astounding in the midst of the asteroid field.

As your SCDs built the new automated mine they uncovered a research lab built into the asteroid itself, investigating it with the help of your 'Eye' drones you find it was primarily a weapons development lab as you find data, and blueprints pertaining to a frigate class railgun ship, anti-boarding drones, and even light railguns that arm the frigate. Of course its also a mild surprise when you find designs for a Corvette Class mining freighter that the railgun frigates were apparently supposed to escort, this could come in handy, quite a bit so.

With the help from those blueprints you manage a breakthrough in finishing the basic frigate design, though it feels quite pale in comparison to what you've found this day. How to proceed with this new knowledge is the primary question ...

((How DO we get fuel?))

For research, Begin on figuring out on how to build A type of Corvette class Fighting ship, And then we deconstruct one(1) of the six(6) HMK-47 Tactical Nuclear Warheads

For constructing...Herm.. How about we build One(1)Corvette Class Mining Freighter And One(1)Small Drone Bay

This can be improved.

Fuel would need to be refined from Chemical Units.

I say we research how to produce advanced electronics by observing a piece of it, as well as comparing factories we have already acquired.
Furthermore I would also start research metallurgy to develop better, stronger, harder metals, by looking at the alloys of the metals.

Research:
Improved passive sensors
HMK-47 construction
Advanced electronics fabrication.

Construct:
Mining corvette - possible veto
Small drone bay
Orbital railgun platform

Deconstruct:
1 HMK-47 nuclear warhead
1 advanced electronics

Do we get any extra research slots from the discovered lab?

Also im thinking we should veto the mining frieghter (for now) just in case we need the advanced electronics for a large scale automated electronics fabricator.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

I'm pretty sure we need to utilize a resaerch slot to get any decent information from dissassembling something.

We should probably build another research lab, they don't cost that much.

We dont have the electronics to build one, im gonna go replace metallurgy with electronics fabrication.

It appears we don't. Doubt we'll have enough for a corvette either.

On a side note, we should build the small drone bay in the solar array. We're running out of space in our current shell.

Sounds good. Should we - for whatever reasons - ever choose to leave the system, non-static mining could be a boon. That said;

Obvious reasoning is obvious.

Agreed on all, but on the passive sensors make them able to detect biological as well as electronic signatures.
