Well, I seem to be going against popular opinion here.  Fine, I'll stop opposing the orbital platform-  but if we really don't have any thrusters, then I insist we get some.  Sattelites in real life have them for a reason;  as it is, we're sitting ducks if some kind of large object comes our way.  Like, say, a bit of shattered moon, or an asteroid.

If thrusters are against popular opinion, too, then I'd just like to advocTe more station repair and greater structural integrity.
its not that we don't have thrusters, your right that all satellites have them, its that those thrusters are only suited to making minor changes to our trajectory in order to maintain our orbital path. They will never afford us the control necessary to rotate our orbit let alone break orbit.

that said, im all for having a naval yard build us a battleship to inhabit and then transferring our AI core and power generator over.

what i meant was that we have a set orbital path and will be unable to fire upon any targets that stray from that path.
For example, if we follow a path similar to earths equator we will be unable to fire upon North America or Australia except possibly at the apex of our our orbit.
But even then targets like Greenland and Antarctica will be well beyond our range, hence the need for smaller more maneuverable platforms to extend our coverage area.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

Some sort of almagation of ideas+ own suggestions

Research:
1. Orbit to ground Ballistic weaponry
2. Distributed Computing
3. Spider Bot ground unit (Cheap)

Construct:
1. Naval Dockyard
2. Gravitational Survey Array
3. Another Mine
4. Solar Power array (we might need it)
5. More SCD's
6. Further station repair

We might want to think about building an orbital defense platform to store our drones in. Prevents them from taking up too much space in the hull

I dont exactly fancy the idea of waiting years to drop a multiton tungsten rod on their shiny new anti sattelite missile complex, do you?

Lets launch a fighter, have it accompanied by an Eye as a spotter, and see if we can locate and destroy the moon based stealth targets.

We could in theory land a transport ship on the asteroid and grab the debris, it would likely get shot at though.

Not sure if tractor beams even work. Besides, kind-off pointless isn't it.
Not if we can use it to get ground tech. Plus, it would let us place a bomb without sacrificing a drone.

I'm pretty sure that creating a tractor beam capable of lifting a ground unit to high orbit is significantly harder, if not impossible, than just developing simple ground tech ourselves.

With the resources finally in hand you begin work on the next big step in your advancement, the construction of a Naval Drydocks to build Corvette, or Frigate class vessels and strengthen your presence in the area. The construction goes smoothly as you produce five more SCDs to aid in constructing the monstrous facility (in comparison to everything else you've built) and in no time its colossal frame is done and the SCDs are quickly adding on the necessary machinery for production of vessels. As that draws to a close you set up a queue for furhter structures to be built and turn your focus on research aiming to device Orbit to Ground Ballistics, Distributed Computing, and cheap ground droids.

The Ballistics and droids are simple projects to get under way but as you turn to Distributed Computing you hit a wall, and are momentarily locked out before a single sentence rolls through your databanks. 'Directive 3: The AI's 'mind' and form must be located in a singular location, attempts to go against this directive are not allowed and continued attempts to bypass or follow through with such an act will result in termination.' Somewhat frustrated you focus your efforts on the other two projects instead, in no time you finish the drone project and satisfied with the result move onto the Ballistics. However there you are met with some difficulties as you run formulas and derive methods for use on varying forms of planetary bodies, atmospheres, and gravitational effects. You come close to a breakthrough, but do not quite reach it before a few bells go off signalling the completion of the orders you had queued up, turning your attention to the sensor arrays you take a look at your new expansions with something akin to glee.

Now hovering not far from the shipyard a Solar Array Complex adjusts its numerous solar collectors adjusting to maximize their energy gathering, and further off in the asteroid field itself another automated mine roaring to life as it begins to devour the precious resources within. How to proceed ...
