I'd be curious what your results turn out to be.

If you'd like, I'll post them when we have all the data gathered.

Oh... I um... I guessed "California Bob and Joe Dimaggio" for the senators.

Eh, close enough. :P

Damn it, I live in California! I should know this.

I both live in California and am taking an AP class on the US government and I still didn't know who our senators were.

I knew Diane Feinstein. Also knew Speaker of the House being 2nd in line after the VP. Followed by the President Pro Tempore, or very simply the longest serving member of the Senate's currently serving majority party. I know this because a 84-yr old takes over the US should the top 3 die. Looking over the charts now, it amuses me that eventually the Secretary of Veteran's Affairs is tapped for the job.
As is, terrifyingly, the Secretary of HomeSec. Fortunately, a very large number of well protected people would have to all die in a very short time frame for that to happen.
Fun Succession Fact: One person in the line of succession is protected and kept from the State of the Union every year, just in case. I can't wait for the year where that person is the President :P .

Yes, but they are actually behind everyone else, including Veteran's Affairs, Agriculture, and Transportation. Even Eric Holder is up there at 7th according the the wiki.

The President is not in line for succession of his job. If he dies presumably he is banned from the position.

What if the president is also vice president (which might be possible) and resigns?

Then the position is paradox-sealed forever, unable to be replaced or reactivated without being replaced or reactivated.

That's actually why America doesn't have a King anymore.

The President and the Vice-Presidential jobs are elected separately, and a Vice-President is required. Regardless, at this point the Speaker of the House would become President, unless he is also President Pro Tempore of the Senate and resigns. Then a different Executive Branch officer takes over.

It actually isn't possible to nail all 19 individuals, president and possible successors, in a single nuclear strike, as they are all nation and globe-trotting. You might hit most, but the Secretary of Transportation is having a meeting in New York, or the Vice-President is dealing with North Korea, or Veteran's Services having a convention in Baltimore, or something. Plus, if any Congressman survive they can call a emergency meeting and assign a member to either of the legislative posts that allow you to become president.

It might be difficult, but you could definitely kill them all with enough missile equipped drones all linked to a timer.

Once again, we're put back on the FBI watchlist.
Thanks mate.

Come to think of it, we probably don't get put on a watchlist. They probably have a whole department dedicated to watching us.

I can attest that I am definitely not working for the Pacific Northwest Area Department of Dwarven Activity Monitoring (PNWAD-DAM).

Just to clarify, we they only monitor activity. The ones playing figurative DF would be the PNWAD-DAC (Dwarven Activity Control). We're -DAM is well aware that -DAC is currently not controlling anything, on account of the terrible interface.
