PTW, I've dreamed of a game where you can actually work to build up a kingdom by hand. Mount & Blade warband with mods is as close as i've gotten.

Ah yes, the insatiable lust of corn and rice, clearly two of the most erotic foods.

Looking to get back to survival mechanisms after I polish things off for the next release, please post the areas you'd like to see worked on next.

New Release: 0.4.5 (Bundle 'o' Joy): http://arboreantears.com/fief/download/

Lots of changes in this release: world generation, character creation, and tons of changes to the inner workings to better support modding.

I get a crash/bug in .4.5
Extract to separate folder
Run .jar
Splash screen
Crash: No visible window or notice, but process actively continues in background (full usage one of my CPU cores)

Previously ran .4.2 without a problem

False alarm(ish), seems to have been caused by not finding the completely separate folder that Fief silently installs itself to (minus the .jar) regardless of where it's actually extracted.

Yea... not a fan of that behavior.

Yea... not a fan of that behavior.

I'm not either, unfortunately that's how libGDX sets things up.  But its still in alpha :)
I will eventually create a launcher for it, which will let the you choose where to install the game.

Hello everyone,

Thought I'd update on here, since it's been awhile.  If you haven't been following us on twitter or our website, then I am happy to report that our team is growing and recruiting.

We're currently overhauling the UI using a windowing toolkit I developed, allowing for customized widgets, movable windows, and general mouse/touch-friendly behavior.  Most of this work is already done, and the textures are underway.  Now it is a matter of redeveloping the UI elements under the new system.

Here's a mock-up of where we are aiming:
http://arboreantears.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/UImockup.png

Among other changes, the game has been set to run from the current directory until the intended launcher is developed.

Not sure when the next version will be released, as there are quite a few disseminated lines that need to merge before we can release another version.

Cheers :)

Love the UI. Might finally give this a shot, as I am a huge medieval geek.
