Neonivek -
It's been explicitly explained that oblivion (the oblivion hole type) doesn't make things "never have existed" - it has no power to change the past. It just removes all traces of it from the present, leaving you incredibly confused as to why, for example, you only have one boot. True Oblivion makes it so it would have never existed, and that's what Psimax was eventually aiming for, but he hadn't gotten there yet.

I don't think I'd say confused. No one seemed confused as to why Minmax was carrying around a leather strap or why Forgath  only had a partial beard.

Because a Leather strap can be used for something... and a partial beard is a fashion statement.

While only one boot is noticeable.

Kind of the difference between believing a person had always had a really terrible haircut, and believing a person with soft supple feet has always went barefoot in the arctic. One warrants attention.

It only causes confusion if something prompts it or someone has REASON to wonder why it doesn't make sense. Those directly involved would be disinclined to think about it, but if a strange dwarf asked Forgath "What the hell happened to your bear?" Forgath would have been prompted to consider it and could very well have ended up confused. After all, it had "always been that way... right?" - but that still doesn't explain why.

Kin was undoubtedly already constantly questioning and doubting her decisions on the inside, looking for reasons to sabotage her progress, and Ruby certainly strengthened them by the look on Kin's face when they talked before the oblivionation, despite her protestations about how she was healing. When that constant searching found an inconstancy it could seize on, it undoubtedly did.

Y'know, I have a question.
What happened to that group of monsters the GAP left behind after escaping from Brassmoon? The hobgoblin, the orc and that lizard thing...they became adventurers too.

Reading and rereading this comic, I have a few favorite moments.

The part where the Paladin goblin took the axe. Found that really inspirational, I was listening to Marina and the Diamonds the song Are You Satisfied? It really worked for the scene.

The magic fight where the shield was used repeatedly. Super exciting to see all the random magic.

The bit where Missing arm guy split off the green goo person, which was horrifying but really interesting.

Those are the ones off the top of my head anyway.

I get the feeling that Kin might be able to figure out that something got oblivion'ed, causing the drama to happen.

I mean, if she looks back on the "incident", she's bound to notice a 180° turn in her attitude. "I trust you... but why do I trust you?". Knowing by experience the effects of Oblivion holes, she might guess that something got oblivion'ed at this moment, something significant for her relationship, which caused a whole hell lot of confusion.
I'm surely stretching it, but by looking back to see where she lost that "something", she'll notice something weird with her conversation with Ruby, like the second half of it being nonsensical. Taking in account the first half, Kin could deduce that they were speaking about that "significant something", and that Ruby stole it and oblivionated it to enforce her views.

If anything, she might realize narrative techniques when she sees them. You can't underestimate the power of self-aware story elements.

I wouldn't be surprised.  She recognized the effects of oblivion holes before, and is consistently the most clever person(s) in the room.  Her alts, too, but even Alpha Kin has more INT and WIS than a typical spellcaster.

Welp, new update.  More emotional stuff, I actually like it, broke my heart a little.

Gotta wonder how well Minmax and Forgath would actually fare against Kore, seeing as they're headed right there.
