Ooohhh, the link of how it caught up was a pretty nice thing as a summary :D

Though why is Minmax' hand bleeding before he teleported back?

Welp, new update.  More emotional stuff, I actually like it, broke my heart a little.

Gotta wonder how well Minmax and Forgath would actually fare against Kore, seeing as they're headed right there.
I'd say that they should hope Forgath have proficiency with swords and pass Mixmax's racist sword to him.

It's an axe, though.
So he probably does; he's a dwarf. Dwarves can use axes.
Also super smell and telekinesis.

Clerics don't have martial weapon proficiency, so he might not be able to use it.

If it's a dwarvern made axe, then he gets automatic racial proficiency, though.

That sounds like a dumb system.
"How does it work?"
"It's an axe, whack the enemy with the pointy bit"
"it's too hard..."
"try this one. So you see, you..."
*sick moves*
"... So you know how it works then?"
"Duh, it's a dwarven axe, of course I know."

Ancient instincts? Weird magic stuff? Seeing other dwarves use it? The fact that the axe is specially made to be used by dwarves?

Well yeah dontcha know that dwarven axes have dwarf axelord souls inside them that supplement the user's skill with their own?

Wait that actually sounds like an awesome idea.

It's a bit strange that all dwarves have automatic proficiency in a variety of weapons, some of them so exotic that they can take years of training before getting even a basic understanding of them, simply by being a dwarf. Same for elves and their weird curvy blades.

Then, on the other end of the racial weapons spectrum, we have gnomish battle ladders.

Probably the latter. I mean, isn't weaponry usually balanced and such. Pretty sure a human axe would be quite uncomfortable for a dwarf to use.

IIRC there was something in DMG about changing race traits changing if the character was raised by a different race. I think that dwarves raised by non-dwarves lose racial weapon aptitudes since it's a cultural thing, but retain nightvision since it's a biological thing.

Page 171 of the DMG has the variant race rules. It specifically goes into the difference between a half-human elf and a half-elf human, the first being raised among elves, the second being raised among humans. It doesn't have a similar variant for dwarves, since they're assumed to be pure blooded. I think the closest race for a half-dwarf human is a Derro from the core 3.5 rulebooks.
