My guess this is... an opportunity to restructure the characters a little bit, in the costume of an opportunity to restructure the players' character sheets, which in turn is in the costume of a weird dungeon gimmick.

I think I see a pattern emerging, actually. If the category is "simple entries on your character sheet with complicated answers", and Vorpal is asked his name, then I think Names will be asked his race.
If so, I wonder how it'll go for the rest. My bet is:
Names: Race. Thaco: Level. Ears: Alignment.
(Bonus: later Minmax will pass through and be asked to list his Feats.)
