Mainiac, does using glow salve the problem of my colours?

It's readable enough as is.

Wait... ARE we buying the boat? Cause if so I think I still have my 2000 on Holdron... Ugh. I thought we were waiting until AFTER the whole quest thing was done.

Nobody decided so I thought I'd have a look at what there is. It might be easier to take the canoes/rowboats for now, no? And maybe the kneelboat whatever it is for later, dependent on how long it takes to build.

There is also an elven shipwright present, who has a number of colourfully painted rafts already built and half a kneelboat in drydock. Upon inquiring about the price, he informs you that the ship was commissioned by a group of explorers who went missing and are probably dead. He'll finish the knealboat and sell it to you, if you can pay the 4000 still owed on it up front.
4000gp still owed on it, up front? Dear gods, this guy has a good scam going on.

If I had come with, I actually have ranks of Appraise as well as a pretty good Diplomacy check (+9).

Unfortunately, no reason for Kalnaf to head to the docks right now.  =\

It's not even the 1000gp markup, it's the fact that he implied he's already been at least partially paid by some lost adventurers, and who knows how many times that may have happened. If he gets 4k up-front from us and we don't return, then he can sell the same boat again for 4k to the next adventuring party. If we do return, he's still made a profit, and can start work on a new boat to start the process over again.

I also have sense motive.  ;)  Okay, one rank hardly counts, BUT STILL!

Frankly, I admire his business sense. Especially since it seems he has no competitors here.

On a totally unrelated note: I'm sad that none of the characters at the dock understand Goblin and thus are all missing out on the hobgoblin's singing.

Heehee if I'd not been on my phone and pressed for time I could have suggested I cast comprehend languages to listen. My IC excuse would have to be that I didn't find hobgoblin's exotic enough to want to check out their song and write it down. I shall fix this!

Holdron understands Goblin. BUT everyone said we were doing the boat thing later so he's just drinking/passing out in a gutter at the moment.

Holdron: Passing out in exotic gutters since 2013

(This will seem a lot more impressive years from now)
