Edited Holdron to fix a few things. HP increased [forgot the Constitution thing apparently...], Changed Survival and Skill Focus to Toughness and Power Attack. Apparently I get a second language since I have +1 to intelligence so I'm just going to put that in there. Also made him literate by nerfing his Listen bonus.

Edit: Fixed his Speed as well since he's not carrying as much as I thought.

Can someone help me make a character? I'll go with primarily melee, but with a reserve of spells for utility purposes. What would that sort of thing be?

Bard. Bards are the primary utility spell class. If you don't want that, go with a sorcerer or a cleric.

How useful would a druid be?

Depends on what you want to do. In an untamed land like this, more than usual.

I'll try one of those, i suppose. Might as well learn by doing.

We are using point buy which means you don't have to roll the stats there is a calculator for point buy here we have 36 points to spend so just fiddle around with it until the total points says 36

So that's done, now: to choose equipment and spells. And feats.

Aaargh.

Point buy with 36 points, max HP for the first level, average rounded up for subsequent levels.

LA races are a tricky question, because the LA for most races is either too high or too low. They will be approved/denied/adjusted on a case by case basis. LA buy off is in for anything that is approved. You also have the option of asking me to stat up a LA 0 version of whatever you wanted to play.
Just confirming, but this means that a d8 rounds up to 5?

Also, depending on if Miniatures Handbook is allowed, I'm liable to play a Bard/Marshal, but if core only then Barbarian/Cleric.

Oh, didn't see the LA notes.

Is the Half Giant race approved?

Dammit.

Are any roles still open? Or at least, undercovered? We've got a cleric and a druid and maybe a bard, so we probably won't need a healer.
We've had a couple mages, so blasting's okay.
We've got a ranger and a barbarian, IIRC, plus that pack-mule, so we probably don't need more meatshields.
Do we have a rogue, maybe?

There's 13 people asking to go so far, so we're 5 overburdened.

I imagine try-outs (or similar) will be had, so pick a class/idea that is less chosen and more interesting.

Although I will say that Gilgamesh should probably get an auto-pass to play, seeing as it's going to be his first.

We've had a couple mages, so blasting's okay.

I'm going for a somewhat non-blasty mage.  She is super stealthy so I'm loading her up with touch attacks instead to try and get close while the fighters distract everyone.  If I get to make her a cat instead of a human then she will become even more stealthy!
